We were invited to the General Staff Headquarters for dinner. We were looking forward to their menu

"I object! I absolutely object! Tanya and Olivia Degurechaffs must not be allowed to lead the rapid response wing.Their personalities are dangerous." I exclaimed

"Despite your claims Lieutenant Colonel Rerugen. The war college instructors commented that they are caring soldiers. One's who will choose the best outcomes with minimal losses in a battle. In their field trip, it was said that they were the first to wake up and were the ones who gave warm water to the freezing soldiers. Please let go of your view of the two during officer school. You should see that the two have grown mature. The Empire can't let two capable soldiers sit around. The decission was made by the general staff. I believe you know what it means?" Brigadier General Ludeldorff said

"...If you'll excuse me."

"Then we'll proceed as plan. We will let Captains Degurechaff form a new wing as planned."

Even though Rerugen has a calm look on his face. He was pulling his hair on the inside

That Night
The Same First (Army) Dining Hall

As we made small talk with Brigadier General Zettour and Colonel Codru

Our food arrives and they call it "Schlachtplatte" to say we were disappointed was an understatement. It was fucking disgusting. I can cook better than this and with knowledge from shokugeki and a lot of gordon ramsay cooking shows still fresh on my head I can cook something even better. Tanya can vouche for me at my statement. I just don't normally cook since I'm just lazy

"How is it Capt.s? It's a general staff specialty?" General Zettour asked with his grandfatherly smile on his face

'It takes like you guys don't know how to fucking cook! What... Did he say captain?' I thought

"Yes to be honest. I'm impressed by how they serve as a constant reminder of being on a battlefield." Tanya said while I just nodded

'Yeah, it taste like shit. Ya old farts.' I thought as I chew on this food

"Hahaha. What an excellent answer. Sir Zettour, let's name it "The Eternal Battlefield"! Hahaha." Colonel Codru said with a smile

"Admiral attitude, Captain. But no need to hold back. Eat as much as you want, you are a growing child after all." Sir Zettour said

To which I reply "Thank you but I'm already full, so please don't mind." with a smile as Tanya nodded in agreement

"Really? It's not good to eat little with growing bodies like the two of you. You two should eat more." Sir Zettour said with a sad smile

"Yes, although we both have small stomachs, we will try to eat more in the near future. Right, Olivia?" Tanya said to which I reply in a monotone voice "Yes dear- I mean sister. Damn I've been condemned." making the older two laugh at my joke

After that they started congratulating us on our promotion but as well gave us our next assignment. Colonel Codru gave us a folder with a lot of jobs for us in the back lines then left to attend to somethings, leaving only me, Tanya and Sir Zettour

As we were finally alone, Sir Zettour pulled out another folder and started to explain this assignment. To creat a rapid response wing. The general staff will entrust us with a wing. A newly created one as well. He then explains we will be the de facro leaders of the wing and with no direct superior officers. We are essentially u der the command of the general staff

We agreed instantly and then we were given the rank as Organizing Officer. A rank for us to use so we can easily become majors.

We ended our meeting there, since we already got our assignments and that Sir Zettour still had a family dinner to go to

We juat accompanied each other to the front of the building, where a car was waiting for Sir Zettour to escort him home

We said our goodbyes but before we even could start our way back home, we heard Sir Zettour called out to us

"Captain Degurechaffs, why not join me and my family for dinner?"

"Thank you for the offer but we wouldn't want to intrude." Tanya said

"It's your time to spend time with family. We wouldn't want to take your time away from that." I said

"Oh nonsense. I know you two didn't like the food and to how I know, even my own grandchildren spit it out. My family would love to have 2 extra people to come and have a chat with. So don't be shy."

"Are you really sure, sir?" I asked

"Of course. I would invite you two if I wasn't."

I looked at Tanya, smiled and nodded maki g jer sigh and said "We would love to. Thank you for the offer."

"Then come on now. Can't let my family wait any longer than they should be."

We both got into the car and it started driving to where Sir Zettour's house is

During the whole car ride we made small talks mostly about his family. He had a daughter, 2 grandkids (boy and girl) and a wife named Charlotte

We arrived at our destination. Sir Zettour went out first and helped us get out of the car

We looked around and saw that he lived in a pretty quiet neighborhood and inside a fairly big house

He opened the door and said the most common greeting ever. "I'm home and I've brought guests."

We heard an elderly woman said "Zettour! We're in the kitchen."

He ushered us inside, we took our boots and hats off and said at the same time "Sorry for the intrusion."

We followed him as we looked aroumd the house and saw that it had a cozy feel to it

We went inside the kitchen and saw an elderly woman taking something out of the oven

"Charlotte, I've brought guest." Sir Zettour said

"Olivia?" I heard someone called my name to the side

I turned my head and saw "Ava?"

We heard footsteps coming down and saw the two teens who pushed us yhe other day sta ding there on the stair with a look of shocked on their face

"What is all the commotion about?" I heard

I turned to see the elderly woman turned around and gasped as she saw us

Letting go of the hot breakabke baking pot

Out of instincts, I quickly grabbed the falling pot on my right hand

As silence filled the room and a tear fell out from my eye as I quickly said in a monotone voice "Ow."
