We were walking through the most unusual garden. There were no flowers here. No trees. No birds.
Just fireflies.
Thousands of them, blinking their tails. It was an orchestra of lights and we were the only audience there. We turned towards each other and shared a kiss. It felt special to do it in the middle of all the fireflies. We felt special.
And then it happened.
One by one, all the fireflies flew away, leaving us in complete darkness. We panicked. We were scared. We didn't know what to do.
In that moment of despair, one firefly returned. Its light wasn't enough to guide us home. But then, it never wanted to show us the way. It came back just to show us our strength. It flew in the middle of us, shining light on our hands held together. And in that moment we knew.
As long as we are together, we can find our way through any darkness.
