i look upon an open window
into a stream of beautiful sunlight
a whisper over the callous caws
of songbirds in a slept of the grim
i wept at a sight unto my iris
so bleak hept the blue
for the trees i saw as equals
now my lovers in trapped cocoons
they walk so valiant, so sure
into a spot of nowhere
not because they haven't the time
but for they are the adventure
as i write my words so delicate
i envisioned a solitude in such
that i slept for once
once with no vice to latch
for the sun slowed pace
and slept with the hills
and soon came the marvel
i call the moon, i know as my love
and the noses of the stars
we're blushed up bright
just enough to last me
well past the stroke of night
but came to pass the love
for the woken beast arose
and the trees were friends again
for the sun loves the moon too
