"You should not be here," he said gravely. "This is not a place for outsiders."
I felt a chill run down my spine but remained undeterred.
"I just want to know what's happening in this village," I said. "Why are people so scared?"
The old man shook his head.
"You do not want to know," he replied. "The unknown is a dangerous thing."
But I was determined to find out. I pressed him for answers, but he remained stubbornly silent.
