The sun prepares to say farewell to the city of Shibuya, it's gentle light paints Kamiyama High in a gentle orange, the students though still lively start to depart from the building
A young girl can be seen in front of a classroom, tapping her feet impatiently, seemingly waiting for someone, she isn't kept waiting for long as a boy greets her
"You're here earlier than i expected"
"What?so you expected me to be late? goshhh lets just get going Rui" Ena leads the way to the gate and the two walk side by side
in the distance a figure observes the two, he can't help but feel the place in his chest where his heart resides burn a bit but he tries his best to ignore it and goes on his way, after all he was in no place to be jealous
Rui and Ena head to a cafe and find themselves by the window seat, Ena puts down a notebook and begins scribbling something
"okay so how about i confess at the roof top? like a shoujo manga?? "Ena looks up from her notebook
" too basic"Rui quickly shuts her down
"how about under the Sakura tree near the school"
"it's already withered you know... "
"ah right! then how about-"
"okay stop! how about you write a song for her and sing it, wouldn't she like that?"Rui says somewhat annoyed that Ena was rather uncreative
"i guess Kanade would like that.. okay I'll do it, but i need it to be somewhere special!! "
Rui thinks about it for a moment until a little light bulb could lights up in his head
"We have a gig next week Friday don't we? how about we surprise her, after we finish our setlist we perform it, we can even get the other two in on it"
Ena's eyes light up at the idea but at the same time the glow in her eyes fade back
"hm? whats wrong"
"i love the idea don't get me wrong but i really wanted to avoid getting my brother in on this , i doubt he'll even agree to help"
"it's true Akito can be a bit, mean, but he's not a bad guy I'm sure he'll help"
Ena nods "he won't have a choice, well it's also a little nerve wracking doing it so public but let's hope it all works out"
"Well then let's wrap it up for now and I'll go ahead and tell Toya and you can tell Akito and we can start working on the song tonight and we all meet up tomorrow at lunch?"
"yeah sounds good! thanks for the help Rui!" Ena rose from her seat and grabbed her stuff she'd clutter all over the table and the two left the cafe
Rui was happy to have helped Ena but of course he couldn't forget his part of their deal, if it does go well he'd have to confess to Toya as well, that scared him, as he was walking home, his feet simply stopped carrying him when the thought of confessing grew larger in his mind, sweat dripped down from his forehead as if he was having a fever
somehow his feet finally took him home, he plopped on his bed as he felt his body become limp as soon as he saw his bed
then he remembers about the plan and realizes he has to tell Toya about the song now
he goes into his contact list and stares at Toya's contact
it made him nervous, after all Rui had never been the first to call, but he knew he had to do it, for his friend
he starts the call and hears the ringing, anxious that he won't pick up
"hello? Rui?"
"ah- Toya! it's just... me and Ena need your help with something"
"hm? I'd love to help! with what exactly?"
"umm.. Ena wants to write a song to confess to someone... um.. that someone being Kanade, so you need to keep it a secret from her okay?"
"ah i see, then when should we start working on it? "
"well how about you work on a nice riff or melody, and I'll work on one too and we can all discuss it tomorrow at lunch?"
"that sounds good, well I'll get to work right away,good night Rui"
As Rui heard the beeping sound of thr phone being hung up, he couldn't help but feel like he could feel Toya smile though the screen, it made his heart beat go crazy, was he delusional? i mean he had to be right? . . .
After a few days had passed by, the fated day finally came, the day of the Friday gig, the four of them have worked hard for the past few days, with Toya and Ena working on the lyrics, the song was sweet, though some things in the song you could feel were from personal special moments,but some of the lyrics were words any high schooler would want to say to their crush
As the band is still backstage waiting for their turn, Ena can be seen circling around the room, nervous rightfully so
Rui approaches her and places a hand on her shoulder, with a look that says "everything will be okay"
just then their name is called and they head on stage
