The day was starting particularly normal for Toya, heading to school the same route as yesterday, even passing by the same people he usually did and today as well he would greet his boyfriend as usual except he wasn't?
When Toya reached school he was met with the unfamiliar site of his boyfriend Rui wearing a mask, why? he wondered but even when he tried to ask his boyfriend seemed to run away from him
and that was now why he was whining to his friend Akito , which much to Akito's demise was not something he wanted to hear about, especially because he did not like Rui one bit
"i really could not be bothered about you and your boyfriend's little fight"
Akito snaps back amidst Toya's rant
"that's the weird part, I could understand why he'd avoid me if we had a fight but we were on good terms literally last night, i wonder if i did anything to upset him? he won't even go near me even if i wanted to ask"
"I'm sure you're just overthinking it, it'll be fine" Akito simply dismissed Toya, but inside he was rather curious as to why Rui would act like this
The day passed by like 'normal' except there was a horrible looming feeling in Toya's chest he couldn't dismiss, it was a rather overbearing feeling
As the horrible hours passed by the day had eventually come to an end, and the mystery of why Rui was acting like the way he was still remained
As the bell rung, indicating that the school day had ended, Toya darted out of his seat to immediately make his way towards the second years classrooms but as soon as Rui saw the young man's silhouette, he made his way out the building with Toya barely missing him
Toya looked around for Rui but failed to even get a glimpse of him, he had to head home defeated, Rui refused to talk to him, or answer his text let alone go near him, Toya questioned himself... what did he do wrong?
As Toya walks home with his head down he decides to head to the park to get his mind off it for a while, enjoying the flowers and the orange tinted scenery around him,he walks on a somewhat secluded pathway, no one else seems to be around, except a certain peculiar inventor, his figure immediately catches Toya's eyes and he makes his way towards him
But Rui with his mask, carrying what seems to be parts in a box for whatever project he had takes a step back for every step forward Toya takes without speaking a word
"Why are you avoiding me? did i do something wrong?!" Toya basically screams, not caring if people heard him or saw him, he just wanted to know why Rui was acting like this
Rui just stares at Toya with a somewhat painful expressed on his face
Then Rui pulls out his phone, his eyes widen for a second, Toya stands about 10 feet away anxiously waiting until he receives a text from Rui
'Sorry for not explaining clearly but I've got a terrible cold and i just don't want you to catch it'
'also sorry about not answering your text, i forgot to bring my phone'
Toya looks up from his phone in disbelief, he lets out a sigh followed by defeated laugh
"You had me worried all day you know?"
Toya says with a gentle smile, slowly making his way towards Rui
"Sorry... you're right i should have told you right away" Rui replies, you can clearly tell from his voice he isn't in the best state
"Don't come closer!! it's really contagious!" Rui steps back, but Toya rushes forward and kisses him with his mask still on
"well you still had your mask on right? so i doubt I'll catch anything" Toya shows a warm smile even Rui can't get mad
"Don't blame me if you catch a cold though? " Rui replies playfully
Funny enough Toya did catch Rui's cold eventually, but he isn't all too mad, it just means he can be around his boyfriend more.
