A team on trial

I'm just not really feeling dance today. I'm tired and over it already but guess what here I am in the studio. We're currently in studio B warming up even though i don't need to just come back from hip hop, listening to GiaNina wine about how she messed up the counts it sounds like a you problem it's not our fault.

"We're called a team but don't act like it." GiaNina says here we go "Well maybe it's because not everyone talks to each other and there's clicks since starting last week when Elliana came in, you and her just have a click." Presley points out. She's got a voice and she's using it. "We all really wanted Elianna to come in and all grow as a team and you just took Ellie and kind of separated." Sarah has joined the conversation Jesus. I really miss brady.

Speaking of why I'm tired is because I stayed on the phone to him last night until 2 in the morning. "Well then talk to Ellie then and say I want to sit next to her, stop blaming me that we're friends it's annoying I hate being accused for everything I do. I'm friends with Elianna." GiaNina starts tearing up "ENOUGH." I have to yell and they all look at me I've had enough of this shit

"I'm seriously over this GiaNina, you need to stop blaming people for your mistakes on stage. You should have known the counts, you're saying that we don't act like a team when have we ever acted like it." I point to her and Hannah "I don't understand what your issue with me is but it needs to stop, don't think I've noticed the eye rolling Hannah that's a part of the problem so please grow up." And I've finally snapped. They all look at the ground cause they know I'm right.

Before anything is said Abby calls us when Yolanda walks in without Elliana because she needs more school time. The pyramid started and GiaNina was on the bottom. "Gianina you were off the counts." Abby says " I asked them backstage to clarify the counts and they said yes go to the other side so I don't know if it was a miscommunication or if they wanted me to mess up and not do it right." what a croc of shit GiaNina our moms didn't agree with that statement of course Yolanda has to open her mouth.

"looks like this team is falling apart." she said "we would never ever want you to mess up." Presley says I'm shaking my head "Octavia have you got something to say?" Abby asks "Yeah I do actually. GiaNina I don't think any of us appreciate the fact you're trying to push your mistakes onto us." I say

"Octavia, don't talk to my kid like that!" Joanne cracks off "Joanne I'm not trying to be rude but butt out. When everyone makes mistakes we own up to it not once ever since I've danced with Miss Abby. another dancer has tried to blame the others for her faults." I finish Abby  begin to laugh. Everyone looks at her "Octavia's right Joanne butt out, and GiaNina you make mistakes own it." Abby says

I look at the pyramid and just zone out at this point. I really don't care. "This week we're going to Canton Ohio to attend the beat. GiaNina you are performing a duet with Elliana, and the solo goes to Octavia it's a mixture of acro and lyrical. The group is called Blue Bloods we're all lucky to be here at the Abby Lee dance company. Sometimes when I work with some of you, I think that you have made it and don't have to work hard anymore." Abby says

"I don't understand two losses in a row are we really going to give brady, savannah and Octavia that much credit because that's what it looks like even though we have Eliana who's MIA we also have who is here today she has a solo this week and she's not in the group our guess the dancer will swing in for Elliana she will stand in her spot she will block her spacing." Abby continues to learn her name is Kamryn huh she's the 3rd one we've had on the team.

After learning some of the group dance it's time for Kamryn and I solo. "Octavia you're up first my sweets, you have a massive prop this week it's a box this dance is somewhat seductive. I want you to start with your back turned left leg behind a little twisted right hand on the top of the box, slowly turn around and start clicking on the beat with your right hand." I begin to do the movements "so climb up onto the top of the box and front flip off, gia can you grab a mat underneath her, once you land i want you to forward roll so you land safely."

Aphrodite p.o.v

"Is that a box?" Joanne asks no shit as I'm watching Octavia dance. I see her climb on top of the box "there's no way Abby is going to make her jump off of that surely." Ashley says we all gasp as Octavia front flips and lands onto the mat. "oh my god does Abby know how dangerous that is!" Stacey says "That's crazy no if that was Hannah i would pull that number straight away." Ann says "Well if Abby didn't think that Octavia couldn't do it then she wouldn't." Yolanda says which is oddly kind of nice nodding my head in agreement.

"It seems like a very intense dance. The movements are sharp." Michelle says "Look Abby is always smiling when she's working with Octavia but when it's everyone else it's like WW3." Ann says "When she won against everyone from both teams i guess she saw Octavia as the next Maddie." I say "I agree with that statement." Stacey says "Don't take this the wrong way but Octavia is washed up." Joanne says I hear the moms take a sharp breath

"How in the fuck am i not meant to take that the wrong way! Ever since she had started dancing with Abby she's been undefeated so shut the fuck up! Octavia is not washed up. My daughter has won every time my child has gone up against yours!" grabbing my bag as I'm walking down the stairs "Fuck you Joanne. I can see where your daughter gets her holier than you attitude from." I say grabbing Octavia's dance bag i open the door interrupting Octavia's solo

"I'm sorry Abby but I can't at this point Joanne is bullying my daughter saying she's washed up. Octavia lets go" I watch as Octavia gives Abby a hug and walks out the door "Abby again I'm sorry but these guys will be lucky to see her this weekend." I say with tears in my eyes "It's alright Aphrodite, just give me a call tomorrow to see if she's performing this weekend." Abby says

"How dare Joanne say Octavia is washed up, she has won against your kid every time, your kid cries every time if she doesn't get a dance she doesn't like." Abby says

"I really don't appreciate Joanne talking about me. It really hurts. I've done nothing to her or GiaNina." Octavia says with tears in her eyes

"Don't worry sweetie, it comes down to jealousy, it's not your fault." I say rubbing her back." i say trying not to cry as well

"I'm going to be lucky if I'm even dancing this week." GiaNina says "Well god forbid someone tells the truth about her. And once again Aphrodite is overacting storming out of the studio and taking Octavia with her." Joanne says scoffing and rolling her eyes

"Joanne was out of line with what she said about Octavia." Ashely says "Mom what did Joanne say about Octavia?" Presley questions " don't worry about it." Ashley says

"It's going to get taken out on GiaNina." Ann says "What happened?" Hannah questions "Some ugly things were said about someone. Don't worry it wasn't about you." Ann says feeling bad about what Joanne did.

Octavia p.o.v

walking to the car holding my bag "Mom what happened?" I question "Joanne called you washed up. It's ridiculous every time you've gone against her kid you've won." she wipes her tears "I'm not washed up am i mom?" My voice cracks "No honey, not even close Abby said to give her a call tomorrow to see if you want to dance this weekend she won't be mad." giving me a hug "ok, i miss dad." I say" it's going to be okay sweetie I miss him too at least he's in a better place now." As we begin driving home, still crying.
