The knife is pressed tighter to her throat, nicking her skin and causing a drop of blood to burn a slow trail down her neck.
"Put the knife down!"
I watch the tears pool in her eyes, her teeth biting her inner cheek in an attempt to be brave and stay calm. My brave girl.
"I don't think I will Alpha," he grins at me manically, eyes casting a look down at her frail body. He moves the knife more, drawing a long trail across the side of her neck that has me flinching forward.
"No!" I shout, hands raised as if it would help.
My heart is thrumming in my chest, my wolf pacing in rage, waiting for the go ahead to shift and rip him limb from limb. He has no right to touch her. No fucking right.
"I'll give you what you want! Just please...let her go..." I concede, having been backed into a corner.
"Will you?" His eyes glance up at me with a victorious glint.
"No, don't do it Alex—"
"Shut it," he growls, covering her mouth with her hand.
"I will give you the title just..." I edge closer, attempting to get as close as I can wether that's to attack him or help her, I don't know, "just stop. She doesn't need to be involved."
He seems to mull over my words.
My senses are heightened, prepared for any and all movements or attacks that could be sent my way. It's like I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for his decision, my plans sweating and I'm sure he can see the way my hands are shaking.
