When I was a little girl, I always wanted to be a powerful Wizard. I wanted to be so strong that all the guilds wanted me to join.

When I was a little girl, the stories of my parents and their magical adventures always awed me.

I wanted that. I wanted the adventure, the danger, the excitment, and the love.

Now, I still want to be a Mage.

Now, I still dream of the possible adventures.

But now, I have almost given up.

It is beyond me how I ended up with no magical ability when both of my parents were Wizards themselves.

I try so hard.

It's frustrating.

I've tried magical weapons, and I couldn't get them to work for me.

I tried magic cards, and I couldn't do it.

I've tried everything.

It's as if my body denies magic, like it hates it.

I don't understand why though, magic is such a beautiful thing.

I sighed drumming my fingers against the counter.

I worked at a book store in Magnolia.

That's right.

Magnolia.

The home of the grand Fairy Tail.

I longed to join that guild.

I longed to be a Mage.

I longed for something more than just this.

But what can I do?

"Miss."

My gaze shot over to the woman holding a stack of books. She smiled at me, creases forming near her mouth.

I gently smiled back and straightened my posture, "Morning ma'am. Sorry for being spaced out like that."

"Oh no dear! It's fine!" Her smile spread and she set the books down.

I rung up the prices, "So ma'am, how has your morning been so far?" I smiled at her brightly.

"Oh, it's been just fine. Yours?"

"A little slow ma'am, but not absolutely dreadful. That'll be One Hundred Jewels please." I smiled politely.

"Oh one hundred..? Hm let me see.." She started to dig around in her purse and her face fell slightly. "I'm afraid I only have Sixty on me.."

I held up a finger and pulled my wallet out, digging out the remainder of the price, laying it on the table.

"Oh you don't have to do that!" The woman protested.

I shook my head smiling, "I didn't have to, but I wanted to. It's fine, really."

She smiled softly and placed the sixty jewel on the counter. I bagged her books up and carefully handed them to her.

"Thank you dear. I will pay you back sometime." She tipped her head smiling happily, "Have a good day!" With that she turned and left the store.

I sighed once more, there went the rest of the money I needed to pay rent.

I would have to apologize to my landlord and explain what happened.

I'll probably be scolded for being too kind, but oh well.

I placed the hundred jewel into the register, and closed it after words.
