Last chapter:

"Yo Ayzie!" I snapped out of my thoughts and turned around to face the voice trying to address me, of course, this boy,

"Okay Babatunde."

"Shut up, ain't that your dad's name?"Isiah claps back with mock curiosity

"Nah, it's actually my grandpa's name still", big mistake, this boy starts cackling like some babalawo or sum. "Boy shut your mouth." I say with attitude as I mug him. His laugh has me smiling though. You know that one friend you have whose laugh is funnier than the joke? That's him fasho. By this time he and his mandem have sat down with Jada, Aaliyah, Jamila and I and he's over here slapping his thigh like there's sum hilarious going on, kmt. "Isiah if you don't shut up right now." I warn, knowing full well I ain't gon do nun.

"Or what Esi, what will you do?" he asks, leaning into my face, my breathing hitches and he smirks, he knows exactly what he's doing,

In the middle of the cafeteria,

With everyone watching,

With people coughing at random intervals,

With Jada recording,

With Aaliyah choking on her Radnor fizz.

I turn my head away and look to Aaliyah in concern, "Yo babes, y'alright?" She nods her head as she catches her breath, "Yeah, I'm fine, it just went down the wrong way. We're gonna talk later, ok." she orders, looking like she wants an explanation, a good one.

"Okayyy, I need to go toilet, bye guys" I make my escape with my girls

"I'll come with" Isaiah volunteers with his cheeky little grin

"Boy bye. Now he knows he's doing too much."

-

"Erm, Esi? Do you have something to tell your lifelong friends who tell you everything and would like you to return the favour?" Aaliyah was genuinely offended that she didn't know I knew Isiah. Which I don't, he's in my form and that's it. I don't know anything about other than his first name, his country, his tribe, and the fact he gives me butterflies-

"ESI!" Aaliyah is getting big mad, I guess she wants compensation for almost having "DEATH BY RADNOR FIZZ" on her gravestone.

"Sorryyyy, I don't even know him at all, he's in my form that's it."

"Okay." She seemed content and turned to the mirror to reapply lip gloss

"Are you feeling okay Liyah" Jada questioned our best friend with joking concern

"Yeah, I'll get it out of her later, don't worry." we sigh in relief

"Now there's the Liyah we know." Jamila laughs

"Haha funny, who gave you the rights to my nickname? Cuz I know damn well it was not me." Aaliyah turns around and gives Jamila her signature 'Uh-uh don't play wit me' look while I mouth to Jada in a panic "What is going on!?" the tension in the air is so thick right now

"I have to get to class, see you guys whenever." Jamila walks out of the toilets in a huff

"I need to go to business, yeah bye loves." Aaliyah walks out too, she looks angry so we don't try and ask what on earth just happened.

Isiah

"Blud you're not alright in the head! How can there be more doors than wheels? It doesn't even make sense, think of all the toy cars, wheelie chairs, those little wheels on roller coasters, do I need to go on?" I can't believe I'm actually getting into this stupid argument, the answer is so obvious, Ade just can't get it through his thick skull. These lot are my bredrin still though. I've known them since we were small. My brothers from another mother, Adetola(Ade) and Kwame. A few years ago Amari joined our school and joined our group. There are still some things I don't tell him though, he's not family uno.
