watermelon

this is a little different from my usual things but I hope you like it 😼😜

I sat at the table on my phone as I heard joao ask me "do you want me to cut the watermelon before it goes bad?" .

"yeah cut it and see if it's good" I say looking up from my phone to look at him a bit then looking back down at whatever's on my phone.

he grabbed it from the fridge and start cutting it into little pieces.

I walked over to the counter to eat a piece when our girl came in.

"hi lilah would you like watermelon?" I say as I smile and pick her up carefully.

"yes!" she said grabbing a piece from the bowl.

"don't eat too much of it at a time!" I say as she nods and takes a little bite.

"is it good or does it still need time?" joao asked watching her chew.

she mumbles a yes as she takes another bite.

"here let me test it to see if your telling the truth" I say grabbing a piece as well.

it was okay but watermelon isn't really my favorite so I gave the rest to lilah.

"Is it not good??" joao asks.

"it is but I'm not really a watermelon person it tastes like soap to me." I say and joao gives me the most dirtiest look ever.

"what?" I ask laughing at him.

"I can't believe you could say that it's very offensive to me" he says like I just insulted his mother.

"your always so dramatic!" I say laughing even harder.

"that is not dramatic you said it taste like soap! how could anything other than soap taste like soap!" he says.

"that was so brought out for no reason!" I say smiling as he finished cutting the watermelon.

"well it's true!" he says as he starts laughing.

"why are you guys arguing?" lilah asks.

"because your dad is being unreasonable" I say turning her head towards me.

"that is not fair your turning our own daughter against me!" he says trying to take her from me.

"I'm not doing anything!" I say turning away laughing.
