But Shiza instantly forgave her and assured her that it was not her fault and anyone in place off her would done the same. Shehnaz Ammi was thankful and grateful to her for forgiving her.

As Shiza was chopping the vegetables, Kinza walked inside. Shiza smiled in her direction before asking

"Do you need something?"

Kinza lightly shook her head before saying

"I'm here to help you."

Shiza smiled before thanking her and in response Kinza just shrugged and said

"It's our house too. You shouldn't be tiring yourself alone."

Shiza chuckled before telling her

"You know me and Bisma would also help Khala in kitchen. Although, she used to tell us not to but we also didn't want to burden her."

Kinza saw the gleam in Shiza's eyes when she talked about her khala. Her khala must meant so much to her. They heard the sound of door opening and then that velvety voice reached Shiza's ears

"Asalamualikum."

Apparently, Shah Zain had came back from work. Shiza stopped her working and glanced from the kitchen window which have the view of living area. Shah Zain greeted dado before sitting beside her. He looked tired. Shiza was still looking in his direction when Kinza nudged her and said teasingly

"Go and meet him."

She was smiling ear to ear. A blush crept onto Shiza's cheek before she poured water in the glass and went outside.

Shah Zain was rubbing his temples when he heard her voice

"Here, drink this."

He opened his eyes and found her standing there holding a glass of water for him. He took it from her hands before thanking her. She just passed him a small smile and stood there. Shehnaz Ammi smiled seeing the interaction between them. Shiza then asked him

"Do you need anything?"

He shook his head before saying

"I'm going to get fresh. Call me when the food's ready."

Shiza nodded her head before he handed her the glass back and stood up. Shiza was about to grab his coat when he also leaned forward to take it. Their hands brushed with each other and a jolt of electricity passed to both of them. Both looked at each other and they felt like they got lost.

Their eyes refusing to pull apart. It's like something glued their eyes to them. Shah Zain was the one to break eye contact and told her

"It's ok, I'll take it upstairs."

She meekly nodded her head before he went upstairs and she sprinted towards the kitchen to calm down her racing heart beat..

The time of the dinner approached and everyone started to fill in the dining area. Shiza and Kinza were in the kitchen dishing out. Shah Zain had also came down and took his usual seat. His eyes travelled to Shiza in the kitchen working. Her dupatta was slipping from her shoulders time to time.

She was continuously huffing and puffing too. His eyes seemed to stuck at her. She looked so simple yet so intriguing working normally. He was thinking that why didn't he notice her sooner.

She was so immersed in the work that when Kinza nudged her, she got startled. Kinza chuckled before teasing her

"Looks like you got an admirer."

Shiza looked at her in confusion before Kinza motioned her to look towards the dining area. Shiza's eyes travelled there and she caught Shah Zain staring at her. He was so lost that he didn't seem to notice that she had caught him.

Aaban and Salar also took notice of their big brother's reason of lost and snickered. This brought Shah Zain out of his wonderland. He glared at both of them and they just passed him a teasing and annoying smirk. He hit Aaban on the leg under the table before muttering

"Don't be so cocky. I can also make fun of how you literally stare at Kinza every time."

This made Aaban pin dropped silence. Nobody knows he liked Kinza and he hissed at his brother

"Bhai, keep your voice down. If Salar got to know about it then..."

He eyed Salar who was busy talking with Naeem. He shuddered before turning back to Zain and muttering

"Jaan se hi na mar de mujhe wo."

Shah Zain laughed making fun of his misery. Aaban glared at him and huffed before turning to the front...

The dinner went smoothly and no mishap occured. Although, Zohra was keen on finding ways to insult Shiza. But Jahangir was holding her still. He doesn't want to ruin the peaceful tranquility that was made in their house after so long.

Their house had little to no peace in few months. Jahangir knew that it was making his mother upset and for once he wanted everyone to act normally like a happy family. But Zohra was making things difficult. She was not understanding that families are meant to be together. She was so keen on getting Shiza out of the house that she was not even thinking about her own family.

Jahangir and Zohra had been getting into more fights and useless arguments. He would try to explain to stop her acts but she was so blinded by hate and rage that she kept shouting and yelling at him. Their relationship was deteriorating.

What an irony of the situation! Her son finally accepted his failing relationship while she was so hard trying to destroy her long and strong relationship just because of some unnecessary hate. They might show the other family members that everything was alright between them.

But that was a lie. Nothing was right between them. Jahangir and Zohra had been taking distance from each other. They don't talk anymore like a normal couple. Whenever one of them talk, other would messed up in anger and the result came out to be them getting into yet another argument.

Shiza was in the kitchen. She was making coffee for Shah Zain. She knew he drank it often at night. She was well aware that caffeine at night was not good for his health but sometimes he needs to work and he needed to stay awake. She poured the steaming hot coffee in the mug before making her way to the stairs.

She climbed the stairs carefully not wanting to spill the coffee. When she reached the room, she opened the door and entered inside. He was sitting on the sofa working on his laptop. He didn't notice her. She sighed before placing the cup of coffee on the table. His eyes saw her movement and when she noticed him looking at the cup of coffee, she clarified

"I thought you might need it."

He remained quiet for few minutes before muttering

"Thank you."

She meekly smiled at him before going inside the bathroom. She changed into her night clothes before coming out. She walked towards the dresser and applied her night cream. She glanced at Shah Zain from the mirror. His eyes were glued on the laptop screen.

She noticed the way his fingers typed along the keyboard. She never noticed it but he looked so attractive while working. Well, everything about him was so attractive. His eyes, his face, his demeanour. His presence screamed dominance and he made everyone attentive towards him whenever he entered a room. It's like he had a magnetic pull that pulled everyone to him.

She still remembered that how he defended her that day infront of his whole family. From that day, Shiza had formed a respect towards him. Her heart beat loudly whenever he's in close proximity with her. Her palms got sweaty and she doesn't know what these feelings are.

She was so lost looking at him. She couldn't seem to take her eyes off of him. He wasn't even doing anything but still his presence was making her feel things out of ordinary.

She was pulled out of her trance when his amused voice reached her

"Are you doing ogling me, wife?"

Heart rushed up to her cheeks before she practically ran towards the bed and snuggled up in the blanket. She closed her eyes to let sleep envelope her and the last thing she remembered before dozing off was his amused chuckle...
