"Jungwon-ah?" Jay took his hand and looked at him as affectionately as he could. "How did the examination go? You didn't let me follow you." The crown prince just briefly met his eyes before looking away.

"Jungwon-ah~" He tilted his head, slowly feeling like he should be concerned because this seriousness in the younger's face was, for a fact, starting to scare him.

Jungwon made him let go of his hand and continued to leave the academy. "Little prince?" He had tried to take his hand, but the other declined. Whatever it was, something was going on.

Even after they had entered the carriage and were completely alone, he just looked out of the window and didn't say a thing.

"You love not answering me, and you love giving me the silent treatment, yet you don't love me. Damn what am I doing wrong?" Jay mumbled loud enough for Jungwon to hear. "You really won't talk to your dear husband?"

The crown prince looked down and started to play with his wedding ring. His jaw tightened because of all his thoughts. "Why did you stand up for me?" He almost inaudibly said.

Jungwon exhaled deeply and faced Jay. "When I didn't do anything, why did you?"

"Why wouldn't I? Especially if you didn't."

It was a habit of real Jungwon Jay couldn't help but bother with. Jungwon would just silently suffer instead of interfering. He would just listen to how people talk shit about him, gossip about him, and literally anything negative.

He never had stood up for himself because he personally didn't see a reason for that. It wouldn't change anything. Sure, it hurt him, but he knew it wasn't true. And the people who loved him knew that as well.

Jay knew that this was the way Jungwon thought, but he himself couldn't stand it for dear life if someone did that to him.

Because he was his rival, Jay felt that way. That's why he couldn't see him suffer in any way.

The screenwriter couldn't help but be reminded of the cheating rumours back in university.

Jungwon had been suspected to have cheated on the monthly script ranking.

All of them said it had been Jungwon copying Jay when, in reality, they both somehow had ended up writing it together.

He seriously didn't know how it happened.

They just ended up having finished a whole script while falling asleep together in the university library in the most abandoned corner existing.

Jungwon on Jay's shoulder, and Jay's head on Jungwon's.

No one ever caught that moment. Otherwise, their reputation would have been destroyed completely, but maybe this would have been better because then Jungwon would have suffered less.
