•• Chapter Forty Two ••

Start from the beginning

Elena ignored Vivian and looked mostly to Stefan."Klaus compelled Jeremy to stand in front of a speeding car. Don't you get it? Stefan, he's not gonna stop until he gets what he wants."

Stefan stopped her, "Elena. Stop talking. I'm not giving Klaus anything."

"Are you listing? He's gonna kill Jeremy."

"And he's going to kill everyone anyway—"
Stefan placed a hand on Vivian's shoulder to stop her from continuing. Vivian didn't miss the way Elena stepped back and glanced between the two of them. To be quite honest, Vivian secretly liked the jealousy Elena let out in waves, even if unintentionally meaning to do so, the girl was easy to read.

"Look, it seems to me that what ever's going on, isn't really my problem." Elena seemed taken aback by his harsh words. Vivian understood that in the past, Stefan probably would've dropped everything to help; but things were different now. And Elena needed to understand that.

However,  Vivian didn't flinch as the doppelgänger raised her hand and slapped Stefan across the cheek. He didn't react either as she walked angrily away and out of the house.

"That went Well." Vivian muttered, turning to Stefan. He looked unfocused as he starred out into the direction of which she went. The voice of Damon and Elena talking outside traveled to her ears and surly Stefan's. Vivian pressed her lips in a thin line. "They'll understand, eventually." She whispered, just as a loud bang came from the other side of room. Vivian and Stefan turn to find Damon, moaning and groaning in pain on the floor.

"Resilient." Vivian muttered, shaking her head. "The coffins aren't here, Damon."

"We need to talk." Damon stood up and hit the sun, he screamed as his skin burned and quickly moved out of the way.

"Alight." Stefan says, "let's talk."

"Nothing's ever easy with you, is it?" Damon said, tiredly to his brother. Vivian let out a breath and took a step back. She knew this was a moment for them to speak. She's been around enough fights between them to know when to leave them be and let them hash it out. Watching without any reaction, Vivian shook her head as Stefan quickly grabbed his brother and they sped away with Vampire speed. Around the house and finally reaching outside. Vivian speed up and caught up with them just in time to watch Damon stab Stefan with a tree branch.

"That's for ruining my plan." Damon chided, "you stopped me from killing Klaus and you steal his family. Why? Doesn't make sense."

"Aah!"

"Damon, enough!"

"No! You know what, I don't get you either. You plan with me. You help him betray me..."

"Damon—"

"No! Answer me, damn it!"

"Piece by piece Klaus took everything from me." Stefan Started. "I'm doing the same to him."

"But I had him, Stefan!" Damon said, stabbing the wood deeper into his brother. He screamed and Vivian could only watch. A mix of emotions swirled witching her head and she almost contemplated shutting them off just to get some piece and quiet.

"Why'd you screw it up! Huh?"

"I did it to save you."
