I've slowly fallen apart

Here Alfred was, almost a year later.

He was filling in paper work from both Canada and America. When his baby brother had died, he entrusted his beautiful county with Alfred.

It was fine at first. Everything was okay and personifying two different countries was a little more straining, but manageable... until the people of his original country found out.

Now they wanted to combine Canada with America, not only to become one of the biggest and probably strongest country, but to also dig up Canada's natural recourses.

The thought disgusted him. Maybe in his country, but never in his brothers.
He knew what digging up natural recourses included. Pollution, Factories, destroying of land and killing of plant and animals.

And that's exactly what the paperwork he's doing right now is about. Trying to stop the Americans, and every other person, from breaking laws and going to great measures to get their greedy hands on even more land.

It had taken Alfred many weeks to finish the report and now he was tiding it up and making sure everything was in place.

As you can tell, he had become more mature and responsible over the past year and as much as everyone likes that, it also scared them.

Many had tried to distance themselves from Alfred because the few times he was dead serious were during war. Everyone had their fair share of that side of Alfred. Even his best bro Japan had been distancing himself from the American/Canadian, as he was now, and that hurt him.

As he finished up, he sighed and got up to lay himself on the couch. He didn't know for how much longer he could take all the pressure, sadness and depression. It was a little too much for him.

As he was about to drift off into an empty sleep, he was awoken by the sound of someone knocking on the door. Alfred considered just leaving the person out there, but they were persistent. Alfred found out why.

"Oi, open up you bloody wanker! I know you're in there!" Alfred groaned. There was the last person he has ever wanted to talk to. "I'll kick this door down right now if you don't!"

Alfred was not in the mood to go door shopping so with a heavy heart... and a heavy pair of legs, and a heavy pair of arms, and a heavy everything else, he trudged towards the door and opened it.

And of course there was Arthur, with those hideous eyebrows of his, standing at his door.

"What do you want!" America snapped.

"Calm your arse down," he said, "I just came to tell you about the meeting we are having in a few hours, at 4 actually."

"There's no meeting today! I checked!" Alfred said rudely. Ever since the accident, he's been very angry at Britain and wanted nothing to do with him. Even after all their mourning and their constant trying of having Britain remember Canada, he still refused to believe and denied there ever being a nation called 'Kanada'

"Hey, watch that bloody attitude of yours mister! I'm still your father and you will respect me!" He scolded, straightening himself afterwards. He let out a long sigh, "I don't know what's gotten into all of you lately, especially you, America. Well, I just came to tell you that Germany arranged an important meeting short notice," he turned to walk out the door before he looked back and said, "and I wasn't supposed to tell you, but I'll give you a heads up." Britain smirked, "The meeting is about you."

Alfred felt his heart race 100 miles per second before he felt it sink to his stomach.

'What could they want?'

He saw the Brit smirking on his way out and it pissed America off... a lot.... When the Briton was a couple inches from going out the door, Alfred slammed the rest of it shut, causing Arthur to trip and fall outside.

"Don't let the door hit you on the way out~" Alfred said, smirking while mimicking his British accent. "Oh wait," he said smugly, "it already did."

He hear England shout a trail of curses at him as he angrily got up and walked away. Alfred wasn't worried though. He's known that England has tried to curse him several times and each one was a fail.

His small moment of victory passed as he began to feel sleepy. For now, he was going to forget about all his problems and just drift away.

For that moment, he no longer cared.
