ok so a little idea i had for a while was to have a chapter for events and happenings in TSU that happen to line up with sabaton songs as well as other stuff like lore and more, so uh here you go, i also put a few things in army structure and i will elaborate on them further
note: not everything perfectly lines up with the song sometimes, but it's basically close enough.
might add more stuff later lmao
1. The Future Of Warfare - First Asteran deployment of armored vehicles during the First New World War (country lore chapter has more details)
2. Great War - The terrible experiences of and the lies told to unprofessional troops (conscripted hunters) during the FNWW
3. Attack of the Dead Men - The first combat usage of Second Wind, allowing for the outnumbered infantry of the NWU to be revived, which resulted in such a staggering victory that the enemy federation immediately surrendered upon verification of the events in that battle.
4. Dreadnought - NWU propaganda-released song to make sure NWU citizens feel protected, because of the giant spaceships in the sky
5. Shiroyama - Last stand of the Balingian Empire against the NWU
6. Stormtroopers - The founding of the New World Union Special Forces' predecessor, the Asteran Special Forces, and how they changed the tide of trench warfare in the FNWW
7. Ghost Division - A song in particular recounting the speedblitz advance of the 21st Armored Division in the invasion of the Lecelnan Union
8. Panzer Battalion - The invasion of the Balingians from some as-yet uninhabited islands, which caused the almost complete annihilation of their empire, as a retaliation strike after the attempted Lecelnan bombing of the Republic of Lesospian.
9. Attero Dominatus - The collective effort of the space force and several artillery divisions (most notably the 3rd Arty Div.) to bombard Tohacsaza, the capital of the Lecelnan Union, and the ground invasion by several Terrestrial Inf Divs, most notably the 123rd.
10. Hellfighters - The 123rd Inf Div is a division made up of only alien non-humanoid species, who sought to prove themselves to the NWU. The song helps recount the achievements of the 123rd Terr. Inf. Div. during the Battle of Balagy, which involved heavy jungle fighting outside the city.
11. Sparta - The defense at the hellgates near Fuengosa Island, consisting of 1,000 NWU infantry and several hundred AFVs against 50 million demons, as well as several LSA-class demons
12. The Unkillable Soldier - The [REDACTED]'s experience in the NWU military, including his several grievous injuries, though he eventually survived, and would keep on fighting until only a few years ago (think of a kaiju that keeps fighting even though he gets his ahh kicked, yeah thats him)
13. Primo Victoria - The 4 separate naval-based landings in the Lecelnan Union's north, where particularly on the beach code-named Odogaron, the defenders had a seriously tough time dealing with the New World Union
14. Fields of Verdun - Longest CROS-NWU battle; lasting three years over a hard-fought galaxy - fittingly codenamed Verdun by the NWU
15. Poltava - The first battle between the Balingian Empire and the NWU, where Balingian troops had barely made it onto the battlefield when their food and supplies were bombarded by artillery, then they themselves were bombarded, ending the battle before they even saw the NWU
16. The Final Solution - Lecelnan attempt to eradicate all "NWU spies" within their borders (who were all actually civilians) while losing really badly to the NWU
17-18. Hill 3234 + Rorke's Drift - A Balingian surprise attack, where they attempted to swarm an NWU position but got absolutely smoked by gunships like it was Conuco Fields all over again. Alternatively: Solar Research Fortress 'Aaru', the site of a massive and nigh-perennial battle between the New World Union and the CROS.
19. The Price Of A Mile - An instance of actual dumbass and incompetent commanders in the FNWW, where they continuously would keep trying to rush the enemy's trench. Asteran Special Forces did this way better, and even innovated with a new tactic called "spamming dig under enemy trench and spamming planted bombs"
20. Winged Hussars (not really) - The Battle of Condetena, where the NWU thwarted a Doolittle style raid from the Balingians.
21. Father - The story of [...], who, in 1934 (NWU calendar) created the formula for immortality, known better as the alchemical Philosopher's Stone (not using pee). This was used to feed and help people, and was soon used to make the NWU's people immortal. However, this extended to militaries, and several alien federations had stolen and copied the formula, using it for themselves. This caused incredible suffering on both sides, as neither could die, but still felt immense pain.
22. W E H R M A C H T - This represents the darkest age in the NWU's military history, from 11045-12245, when biological soldiers were still in major use, and the NWU's Department of Defense had instated rather unethical orders, in general during this period. To maintain PR at home, many speakers and VTDs (voice transmission devices) spoke of the mighty spaceship, the mighty tank, and these booming voices of propaganda ignored the wellbeing of soldiers, which leads to the main events during this period. They included mass-xenogenocides across multiple galaxies, due to NWU paranoia of espionage. They eventually got over it and moved on.
23. Inmate 4859 - The story of an alien with an unspeakable name, hereafter referred to as W.P. W.P. is an alien belonging to the race EXR-9193382232. His race's home planet, EXHP-288348484932913, was once conquered by a galactic federation, and he was interned into one of their labor camps. He escaped, but shortly after another galactic federation, which was much larger, had no use for him, so they simply killed him. However, he was selected to be part of Operation Second Wind, a covert operation to infiltrate operatives into both afterlives, which was a massive success. W.P. was brought back and returned to home, marking a historical moment for the NWU, as he is the first alien (non-homo sapien) to be brought back.
oh yeah, and the galactic federations that captured him and stuff got completely wiped by the NWU.
24. Bismarck - The last stand of an A-155/Bazelgeuse class dreadnought carrier, which was separated from its strike group and its escorts, allowing the enemy, after much effort, was able to destroy it.
25. Screaming Eagles - During the invasion of the Old World, the 65th Airborne Division was surrounded upon landing, and had a little bit of trouble breaking out of their LZ. They managed to break out themselves, after refusing help from nearby ground forces, and as the enemy told them to surrender, several responses were given. The most common among them were F U, NUTS, and KYS, and those who were attached to EXTF operators even sent notes containing the enemy officers' address.
26. Devil Dogs - A song which refers to the New World Union Marine Corps, who are made up exclusively of CoHs or Colonizers of Hell, which is a literal term referring to Unioners who left their homes to colonize AF-N (Afterlife Negative), or Hell. These Marines were born, raised, and grown in AF-N, and they fight 'like dogs,' thus forming the term Devil Dogs.
27. Purple Heart - Every soldier and bot that died in service of the New World Union before 'Rapture Day,' which was on December 25, 20000, the exact date Operation Second Wind began, when they were able to be revived and taken from the afterlife they were sent to. Upon returning to the nation they served, it was observed that 99.99997% of soldiers returning broke down in tears, and the final 0.00003% began to question if they were dreaming, if reality was real, etc.
28. In The Name Of God - A CROS religious fanatic terrorist faction that attempted a massive drone strike/cyberattack on the New World Union that fumbled immensely and the terrorists ended up under government sanctioned [check comments].
29. Rise of Evil - The brutal power struggles in the Union that occurred immediately before the Dystopian Era resulted in the rise of multiple powerful figures that sought to replace the emperor, that failed utterly, and resulted in the Emperor enacting Protocol KOTM.
30. Back In Control - In the early 20300s, a neighboring group-wide alien race had managed to launch a surprise attack on the New World Union and occupied Helios III, the birthplace of the time travelers who had helped them rise, for a month. This incident is not available on public databases and all who experienced it were amnesticized, though the incident may come up on an FOIA.
31. Nuclear Attack (may or may not be canon) - Task Force Xeno covert operation resulting in the nuking of the CROS capital city.
