Conflicts Of Interest

1- Subjugation of the Universe (25431- 29542 NWU calendar)

This conflict involved extermination missions across several septillion galaxies. Due to lack of speed, mechs such as Ray and Excelsus were brought into service to expedite victory. Casualties were extremely minimal. (short description)

2- NWU-[REDACTED] wars (?????-?????, 19542 - 19577)

This first conflict involved guerilla warfare heavily on the enemy's part as the enemy was technologically inferior (though they were certainly more advanced than their counterparts in their age). It started with the invasion with the planet code-named Helios III, the designation it bears to this day. The NWU initially came to the planet and, after following standard Rules of Engagement and getting told to "go f-ck yourselves" (translated) by the planet's inhabitants, they began their invasion with an intense orbital bombardment. Satellites were destroyed, bases struck, cities nuked, and the NWU deployed troops onto the surface.

Shortly after, the NWU subjugated the entire planet. Not one year passed until a mysterious virus colloquially named "Green Poison" began to take over the planet. The NWU immediately pulled out and extracted their military assets as fast as they could, to avoid endangering their service members and equipment. The virus had mutated so fast and multiplied at a similar speed, causing the planet to be so infected the NWU had utilized some sort of strange power to freeze a lot of it. So, a little bit afterwards (a few millenia) they came back and blew up the ice with fire and brimstone, also rapidly constructing dams made of natural materials masked by hills and slopes to hide their involvement. The dams also frequently formed junctions in such a way that allowed almost all of them to be destroyed with a single missile.

They noticed that in the intervening few thousand years, there was a large civilization located on one of the continents. Attempting diplomacy again, the NWU tried to create comms and grow friendly with the civilization. The civilization flat out ignored them and dismissed them, performing essentially the astropolitical equivalent of ghosting someone. The NWU tried again and again to form any kind of friendly relations with the civilization, but they continuously refused, even also fighting occasional flashpoint wars with another civilization the New World Union was contacting. Soon, it was clear that they were not going to join the New World Union, not even as allies. One of their railgun emplacements struck an HSF-39 of the 221st Squadron, blowing its left wing off and causing it to successfully limp back to base.

This was considered a hostile act of war.

The New World Union thought of a nice and quick way to wipe them out, understanding they posed a threat to their interests in that solar system--including thwarting attempts to build floating colonies on an adjacent hot rock planet and on a large gas giant that frequently received asteroid strikes. They fired a single ISAGM (Incendiary Space/Air to Ground Missile) at the largest dam junction they created, and the torrents of water that had been kept there started rushing out. The water had now conveniently flooded through a prepared path and wiped out the vast majority of this civilization, including their capital, which was, rather stupidly, located on low ground. The EXTF Co-Director pair also had taken the opportunity to watch the capital be swamped with water as many civilians escaped into underground shelters.

A few thousand or so years later, they re-examined the planet and found many bright lights and cities. They also noticed that this surface civilization was beginning to find the survivors of the civilization before the freezing. The NWU rushed quickly to send ships and troops into the first civilization's home areas, which were subterranean in nature (pun, because their home has a lot of nature, i am hilariously unfunny), and those who had taken shelter in the aforementioned underground catastrophe shelters also started to inhabit the first civilization's underground structures, repurposing them for their own uses, all while the Union watched. This new civilization was friendlier than their past forefathers, so the New World Union made them into allies. The surface civilization though,

They were a massive problem. Diplomatically, that is. Their military power, not so much. Their levels of advancement and global unity both were absolutely abysmal. But since they were not exactly cruel conquerors, "authoritarian c-nts" (quoted from the emperor himself) they decided to only secretly reach out to some of the countries that they believed were the best to talk to, including the one that inspired almost their whole government system. Some of them rejected the NWU, but the NWU was supposed to try as hard as they could to pursue diplomacy, due to a very specific law they had, which was ratified by their Congress thousands upon thousands of years earlier and requested by a lawmaker who was the son of one of the time travelers who had arrived and aided them. Visible also on the planet's moon were colonies belonging to them, as well as outposts on the somewhat red next-door planet, proving their Early Space Age nature.

A few years later, the NWU gained complete control of the planet, after a little bit of diplomacy, particularly succeeding with the nation that had inspired the Union's own government and their nation-unifying organization. There were a few scattered insurgencies that tried to resist, particularly a somewhat large PMC referred to as "Black Horn". They managed to acquire a weapon array of large guns codenamed "DR-02" which, during a New World Union assault on the bases in the 19600s called 'Operation Shock and Awe', caused the destruction of several NWU bases and the death of 500,000 personnel as well as millions of exodia in losses. This weapon utilized UE-101, which was an energy that had not been widely discovered by that race at that time. The question of the weapon's creation led the NWU's EXTF--at the time known as the New World Union Intelligence Agency (NWUIA)- to an individual named -[REDACTED]-. Investigation of this individual revealed his knowledge of things thousands of years ahead of his race, and his attempt to use UE-101 as an infinite energy source. Thankfully he was unable to, as excessive use of that energy would have annihilated his planet. It was likely also that the man had outside help in learning this info, likely from those who lived underground.

This also taught the NWU to never underestimate their enemies and to always remember that a very low chance is not a zero percent chance.

(subject to change at any time) Miscellaneous events during this time:

1. Unnamed surface race's invasion of another group of the same race in order to obtain technology developed by precursors wiped out by the NWU's tsunami-esque attack. The NWU successfully exfiltrated the precursor tech for their own use, defeating other parties, and the location it was discovered in was dismantled and exfiltrated back to Astera as well.

2. In the thousands of intervening years, EXTF agents were repeatedly dispatched on tours of espionage on E- Helios III. However, zero and we mean ZERO high-profile operations were performed, maintaining the course of history on their planet. This includes an intervention in July of 19523, involving an assassination of two alien figures, who had set up shop on the now rather interconnected Helios III, widely regarded as the New World Union's 'Saddam' and 'Obama with an s', as well as the eradication of a hostile macropathogenic multiversal species; colloquially referred to as Oni.

3. As the New World Union shepherded along and then annexed the inhabitants of Helios III along in their technological expansion, a race of other advanced species in the galaxy attempted to fight a long eradication war against the now genetically enhanced inhabitants of Helios III -- which was going in the invaders' favor -- the New World Union stepped in, performing their signature blitzkrieg-esque tactics and wiping out the other species.

1.5: The Oni Eradication (19523-19546)
