Country Lore

"The New World Union is essentially an empire that spreads throughout every galaxy in its home universe, classified U-124-B. They have uncovered all of the universe's secrets, and they use this to benefit their country. But first, let me tell you how all this began.

Phase 1: Founding

A few thousand years earlier, hunter and colonizer fleets set off for an unknown destination. They had been following a creature known as ZM; which resembled a giant volcano lizard. They followed it until they reached the New World. They launched several capturing operations on it, but they were thwarted by a resident large lifeform, called "GZ"--though this was a codename--by the travelers. The creature kept wreaking havoc throughout the New World, though soon large spaceships appeared out of a time warp, and they were launching attacks towards it. It was ineffective, but their advanced technology would quite obviously help in other ways. The captain, an individual with an undisclosed name as well as a certain hunter were interested in hunting and watching technology advance, respectively. After a series of events, Astera was on the path to feudalism; but the captain's ideas of a republic from his old home changed that. The hunter had earned fame and prestige throughout all of the fleets after slaying hundreds of powerful creatures because he/she was reportedly "more bored than you could ever know", and was elected to be the "president" until his/her retirement. Hunters and colonizers had gone everywhere the continent had to offer, and the future was uncertain. Cities had begun to form in every region except the Rotten Vale, for obvious reasons. Certain regimes had begun taking control of these cities.

Phase 2: Civil War

The Coral Highlands had begun militarizing, and with their rich resources it was rather easy. Other city-states (though many were like republics) were watching with suspicion. [The Highlands] had also been the first city-state to domesticate elder dragons, and it was apparent to everyone, as they knew the dangers posed by them. By way of a simple egg-thieving process, one could obtain an elder dragon pet. Other city-states had silently been following this technique with Elder Dragons in their region, and Astera and the Elder's Recess had come out on top. Astera, through several deaths, had learned how to utilize several kinds of fauna as infantry support--in a way not dissimilar to war elephants--, and the Recess's rich dragon variety even saw a few incredibly powerful elder dragons being trained, and raised, just in case. However, they were not aggressive. They were merely preparing for a worse situation. The Highlands however, saw this as a threat against them. 

Phase 3: Actual Civil War

An alliance made up of Astera, the recently founded Seliana, and the Elder's Recess could go to war against an alliance of the Wildspire Waste, Lagiacrus Island, and the Coral Highlands. The initial skirmish was fought by the Highlands, in the southern mountains. Phalanxes of Gunlances and lances slowly moved forward, followed by Legianas above and Tzitzi-Ya-Ku that were a scout formation. They scanned the enemy formation, before they retreated to friendly lines. Astera had 10,000 men guarding the mountains, and the Highlands had 35,000. They pushed forward, but the Asterans had pioneered the heavy bowgun, and sniper teams had been developed, hiding deep in the mountains. As the Highlanders pushed harder, wyvernblasts were set off as improvised mines. The ground caved in from under them. The battle was won by the Asterans. This was just the beginning; as Astera pulled back, and started upgrading their military. The Selianaians (?) were making great progress; as they forced the Highlands out of the Northern Mountains, and after a brief amphibious assault by Astera codenamed "Sea Overlord" Lagiacrus Island surrendered. The Elder's Recess flanked the Waste, and attacked from their rear. Astera had finished upgrading their military, and decided to use a new doctrine, referred to and heavily inspired by "Blitzkrieg". They reduced troop armor, and utilized faster monsters, instead of slower ones. They quickly captured the Wildspire Waste via Blitzkrieg tactics. The deadliest instance was the Battle of the Spires, which saw the first use of gas and miasma from the Rotten Vale to flush out enemy positions in wyvern nests. The Asteran 6th Army surrounded the Wildspire Republican Guard, and after this encounter the Waste surrendered.  The Highlands were now the only ones left standing, but their use of "Lightning Cavalry" helped them hold enemy forces off. However, these cavalry units, --particularly their mounts--were offset by use of the Rajang, which the Recess had captured and bred in captivity from the Guiding Lands. The Highlands fell, and they were divided into 2 occupation zones, West and East.

Phase 4: Aftermath

A treaty was signed by all of the city-states, and it was essentially modeled after the Earth's Geneva and Hague Conventions, and after the peace, gangs began to form, and political parties did so in the government of Astera.  However, an as yet unknown individual simply referred to as 'Naga', after a mythical creature from the home of the people who came from the stars soon took the lead, and reorganized the government to become a constitutional dual-monarchy so that he could rule with both a Senate as well as an empress. He helped advance the country with the technology that the travelers had brought. He soon unified the New World and the Old World, and launched a "galactic blitzkrieg" on the entire galaxy his planet was situated in. In a few thousand years, the empire had already reached a universal rift, and somehow conquered a nigh infinite universe fully and sent a carrier strike group through the universal rift; leading to another universe. Shortly after, they then constructed an artificial island, where portals would be tested. After the advancement of portal technology and improvement of their military, they decided that a new era of exploration should begin.
