[Obstacle Course]

"Damn Deku!" At that, Izuku looked behind him with an empty stare at Katsuki. "YOU'RE NOT GETTING AHEAD OF ME, YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!!" He shot forward, planning to put Izuku off-balance with a concentrated explosion to his face.

The green-haired boy threw a middle finger back at him before creating a moderately large ball of fire and threw it behind him towards one of the mines in front of Katsuki. The explosive blonde tried to blast himself away from the impending explosion.

He failed.

The mine's explosive yield, which was already strong enough, was worsened by the blast Katsuki made trying to avoid it.

Shoto grit his teeth, sending out ice from his foot to make a path. 'Damnit. This will give the rest of them an easy path, but I can't worry about them,' Shoto thought, seeing Izuku jumping off of Rui before they both ran ahead.

"THE TWO FORMERLY IN THE LEAD HAVE STOPPED TRYING TO SLOW EACH OTHER DOWN, OPTING TO CHASE AKATANI AND MERCER INSTEAD!!" Present Mic announced, "NOW THEY HAVE A COMMON ENEMY!!" He finished, rousing the crowd's anticipation once more.

Meanwhile, Katsuki righted himself in mid-air, enraged beyond belief. "RAAAAAAHHHH! GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE, DEKU!!" The boy screamed, letting a massive explosion behind him to shoot himself forward.

Izuku looked behind him, seeing both Shoto and Katsuki chasing him and Rui.

"Really? Four years later, and he still hasn't grown up?" Izuku scoffed as he turned back to the path forward. "Fucking hell. And I thought I'M petty."

"You go on ahead; I'll deal with 'em," Rui called out to Izuku, who turned to him perplexed.

"You don't wanna tie for 1st Place with me?" Izuku asked him even as they ran.

"Nah! As much as I want to show them up with you..." Rui trailed off, manifesting tendrils from both of his arms.

"... Only one of us actually wants to be the World's Greatest Hero, and that ain't gonna be me!" Rui finished, turning around as he jumped to whip his tendrils at Shoto and Katsuki, who were getting closer.

"Damn it!" Shoto growled out, shooting up a spike of ice to block the whip-like tendrils.

Katsuki had no such problems; he avoided Rui's attack by simply letting out an explosion below him off the ground and then blasting himself forward.

Seeing this, Rui turned around and ran again, completely ignoring Shoto.

"You're not getting away!" Shoto yelled out, sending out a wave of ice to trap Rui.

He missed.

Rui jumped high into the air, smashing the ice below him with a Quirk-enforced arm before shooting a long tendril towards the wall above the gateway leading to the finish line. The moment it connected, it shot him forward. He removed the tendril just before he got to the gateway leading back into the stadium.

Frustrated, Shoto chased after him, using his ice to slide his way to the finish line.

"U.A. SPORTS FESTIVAL, 1ST YEAR STAGE!! WHO COULD'VE PREDICTED THE DEVELOPMENTS DURING THE ENTIRE 1ST ROUND!?" Present Mic yelled out, as one of the leads got closer and closer to the finish line...

"THE FIRST PERSON BACK INSIDE THE STADIUM IS..." Present Mic trailed off, enjoying the excitement that wafted off the crowd.

Then someone crossed the finish line.

"... IS ONE OF THE UNKNOWN POWERHOUSES, IZUKU MIDORIYA! INSTEAD OF A HERO COURSE STUDENT WINNING AS USUAL, IT'S A GENERAL STUDIES KID WHO MADE A HUGE SPLASH!!" Present Mic yelled out as the crowd cheered for the green-haired boy who decimated the competition.

Somewhere in a mansion surrounded by the Musutafu forest, a young woman with long red hair and blue-green eyes and a pair of black wings protruding from her back watched the Sports Festival with her daughter. Both are cheering for Izuku, whose face is displayed on-screen as the winner of the 1st round.

"Mama! Papa won!" The girl cheered as she jumped from her spot on the couch, shooting her arm up with a wide smile. "That's right!" The woman agreed as she ruffled her daughter's silver hair, who giggled at her mother's loving gesture.

Katsuki crossed the finish line seconds after Izuku, stopping by the wall to nurse his pained arm due to overuse of his Quirk. He turned to look at his most hated rival as he held his arm gingerly. "Dammit," he growled out before walking away, "you're not getting ahead of me again, you worthless cunt."

Next was Rui, who went up to Izuku for a fist bump, which the green-haired boy obliged. Then Rui turned to the crowd and gave them a wink and a grin, making half of the women in the crowd swoon over him and all of the men in the crowd send him jealous glares.

Then Shoto crossed the finish line after the tendril-wielding boy, who looked at Izuku and Rui with contempt. 'Izuku Midoriya. Lucas Mercer. You're both people to look out for...' He thought, before walking off. Unbeknownst to him, a red-haired man as tall as All Might was looking at him from among the crowds. His eyes narrowed at the boy, angry that he didn't use his Quirk's other half even once. "Disgrace..." The man muttered angrily as he left, the flames on his face flickering as he walked away.

Ochako came in after Tenya Iida, having barely making it into the top 10 of the 42 students who will participate in the next round. As she wiped the sweat off her forehead, she glanced toward Izuku, her heart clenching as she looked at him. 'No,' Ochako reminded herself as she shook her head, 'not now. Get through the Festival first. I can worry about apologizing to him after this.' With that, she walked to a few of her friends.

Among the teachers, Toshinori Yagi, also known as All Might, ignored his coworkers talking among themselves as he stared at the green-haired boy conversing with his friend down in the stadium. The gaunt man had a growing smile on his face with only one thought in his mind.

'Master... I think I found my successor.'
