"THE LEADS KEEP BREAKING AHEAD, WHILE THE REST OF THE PACK IS BUNCHED UP! OUR RACERS HAVE NO CLUE HOW MANY WILL GET TO MOVE ON; ALL THEY CAN DO IS AIM TO BE ONE OF THE TOP 42!" Present Mic announced, rousing the crowd's anticipation once more, "AND OUR LEADER, SHOT TODOROKI, HAS REACHED THE FINAL OBSTACLE... THE MINEFIELD! A DEADLY CARPET OF BOMBS! A QUICK GLANCE IS ENOUGH FOR YOU TO FIND THE MINES, SO KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED AND WATCH YOUR STEP! AND DON'T WORRY, THE EXPLOSIONS AREN'T THAT STRONG; JUST LOUD AND FLASHY ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU STAIN YOUR PANTS!" The DJ Hero finished dramatically.
"Depends on the person..." Eraserhead muttered.
'SO that's what this is... A massive disadvantage for whoever's at the lead.' Shoto thought, avoiding the mines in front of him. Behind him, the rest of the pack caught up. Some were unfortunate enough to step on a mine. Shoto looked ahead to avoid another mine, but then...
"Mines? Hah! This bullshit doesn't affect me at all!!!" Katsuki yelled, looking back at Shoto scathingly before blasting past Shoto with half the speed of a missile. "Bastard, don't declare war to anyone if your weak ass can't even back it up!" Katsuki yelled at Shoto, still seething about the declaration of war the latter made earlier towards him.
"WE HAVE A NEW LEADER!! GET CRAZY, MASS MEDIA; IT'S THE KIND OF TURN-AROUND YOU'D LOVE!" Present Mic announced, grinning at the reporters and cameramen down in the stadium. The DJ Hero continued, "BUT THE REST ARE CATCHING UP TO THEM!! EVEN AS THE TWO FIGHT EACH OTHER, CAN THEY REMAIN AT THE TOP!?"
Meanwhile, the green-haired boy known as Izuku had just arrived at the Minefield. Taking a moment to catch his breath, he looked around. Everyone was struggling, even the ones from the Hero Course. Izuku snorted, seeing Tenya Iida get blown away by the chain of explosions he caused from behind. 'Turns out even a boost from his family Quirk isn't enough to give him an edge.'
"Yo, Izu!" His attention was taken by a shout from behind him. He turned to see his friend. "Oh, Rui," he called back to the boy with brown-and-orange hair, who stopped a few meters away from him.
"So, wanna do the 'Combined Move' thing?" Rui asked Izuku, with a smile on his face.
Izuku stared at him for a bit, then grinned back.
Halfway through the Minefield, Shoto was still fighting Katsuki while avoiding the mines. "Damn Half-and-Half..." Katsuki snarled as he threw an explosion towards Shoto, who promptly evaded the attack.
Suddenly, everyone heard a slam from the start of the Minefield.
"HUH? WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE BACK?" Present Mic's perplexed voice rang out.
They saw Rui, who was on all fours being covered by his tendrils, getting larger by the second. The boy looked up with a manic grin before his face had gotten covered up by the tendrils, forming a sort of mask.
Just then, Izuku jumped on his back, placing his hands on Rui's spiked shoulders.
"WHAT ARE THEY---?" Present Mic trailed off when he, and everyone else, saw Izuku lighting up the tendril covered boy. Rui's head, arms and legs were lit up in flames. A girl with vines for hair had a hand to her heart as she thought the green-haired boy was riding a hellhound.
"Let's go." Izuku said passively. Everyone started scrambling to get out of the way seeing the smile on his face. "Hell yeah!" Rui replied, his voice distorted by his Quirk.
With that, the General Studies boys shot forward with the speed of an RPG rocket, not caring about the chain of explosions from behind them as the tendril-covered boy ran on all fours.
"INCREDIBLE! CLASS 1C'S IZUKU MIDORIYA AND LUCAS MERCER ARE IN HOT PURSUIT- ACTUALLY THEY'VE ALREADY TAKEN THE LEAD! HOLY SHIT!" Present Mic announced, "THE UNDERDOGS HAD YET ANOTHER TRICK UP THEIR SLEEVES! AND NOW THEY'VE CLEARED THE MINEFIELD IN A NEAR-INSTANT!" Present Mic continued as he ignored Eraserhead reprimanding him about language, much to the raucous cheers from the crowd as they watched the two General Studies kids decimate the competition.

FanfictionI got a bunch of story ideas floating around in my head; might as well put 'em here. They'll probably be just one-shots, so don't expect me, a mediocre a writer, to make fully-fleshed out stories out of them. Feel free to make your own spin on them...
