She started off as happy
But somewhere along the way
She turned numb.
She didn't want to see people
Didn't want to leave the house
Didn't want to leave her bed.
Living off one or less meals a day
Ignoring texts because she couldn't face it
Pyjama days every day out of exhaustion.
Watching the same TV shows blankly
Knees tucked against her chest
Hood covering her face.
It took a while
But the meds finally arrived
And things began to change.
She had energy all of a sudden
And smiled for no reason
And the world grew a little brighter.
She talked to her mother
And she texted her friends
And she ate just a little more.
Her thoughts were as loud as ever
But they weren't the thoughts of after
They were the wonderful, random thoughts of before.
She worked hard with her therapist
And she opened up more to her mother
And admitted to things she did in desperation.
Things were no where near normal
But she was feeling things again
Even if it was just anger at her situation.
She won back her fire
And the world watched
As she fell in love with life all over again.
