Just as the four marauders were getting on the train and draging their trunks behind them, the whistle on the Hogwarts express had been blown one last time. And the train moved forwards, getting some stumbles from the four friends.

Peter even fell back but James had reached out a hand and pulled his friend up.

The group had found an empty compartment at the very back of the train.

They had stopped in front of another compartment before. Though Sirius had claimed it was already taken.

There was just one lonely boy in the compartment. Book in hand, a cold expression on his porcelain looking face.

They settled in the place, well as much as you could for the next few hours. Remus who had a grouth spurt thanks to his 'monthly problem' put their trunks in their spot with ease.

They then seated themselves, the boy with glasses and a bird's nest for hair leaned on his arm, looking out the small window that separated the inside of the train and the outside world.

Sirius had leaned against Moony's shoulder and Remus linked their fingers.

Prongs smiled a bit, knowing that they were together again and nothing on earth could separate them. Other than the Christmas holidays and summer break.

Peter had fell asleep half way through, not really caring about the others. Meanwhile the three of them started talking about quititch and the world cup. They also shared some of their holiday memories as well as jokes and sweets from the trolley lady.

Just then the head girl Lily Evans had opened to door to their little shared space. "You should get dressed into your robes we will be in Hogwarts soon." The girl said before leaving with Marlene McKinnon. Another girl in their year who was a bit too much like James' best friend. They have known each other since their early childhood along with the blond boy in their compartment.

Then the two girls opened the door to the compartment they would have sat in, the boy looked at them expressionlessly, and later he closed the blinds. They opened a while after with a swish of the boy's wand. He continued reading his book.

"Hello? James, mate?"

"Yes?" He tore his eyes away. "Quit staring at Evans, help me pull the blinds down." Sirius basically pleaded as he tugged on them.

James tried his best with the blinds but Remus got involved and used magic, suddenly the blindes were down and working properly.

The boys and Peter got changed into their uniforms with bright red Griffindor ties, heading out the train they managed to get a caridge and make their way to the castle. While the calming ride there Sirius was making stupid jokes and little gossip about Merlin knows who.

When they got to the great hall they watched the little 11 year olds get sorted and bet on which one will get to which house.

Wormtail ended up 5 galleons richer and one smile wider than the remaining marauders who did not have as much luck in the 'stupid game' as James said halfway through the sorting.

They left to their dorm and decided to call it a early night, the four of them sleeping peacefully. Getting the well needed energy for mixed classes. And the other things tomorrow had in stalk.
