If Only (Kakashi X Oc) - Part 1

We sat quietly on the hill looking at the view. I couldn't helped myself and laughed remembering what happened while we walked through the main road. "You're really popular Kakashi~~ With both guys and girls XD I think I even saw a few fainting if you looked in their direction. Anybody you fancy?" Of course not, it's Kakashi the Eternal Bachelor

"In fact, yes there's someone," he said.

"Of course no- Wait WHAT!!? WHAT!!! WHO? THE DETAILS! TELL ME EVERYTHING!!!" My inner girl came out at that time and I was shaking Kakashi.

"Ok ok I'll tell you stop shaking m-"

I stopped and looked at him. He composed himself when I noticed this red hue at the tip of his ears.

"NO WAY!!! ARE YOU EMBARRASSED RIGHT NOW!!!! THE G.R.E.A.T KAKASHI!!!! BLUSHING!! WHERE'S MY CAMERA!!!" I was full out shouting right now.

"Stop this Sora!!! and Get Out of my face!" He coughed and I calmed down. "It's a girl I noticed when all the new genin teams and senseis were sent on a mission to Kumogakure." Yeah I remember Hebi telling me that her boyfriend was going on a long mission with his genin team; apparently the Hokage did that so the genins learns to work with each other.

"She was a newly promoted Genin as well. Us Genins and their genins mixed up and we did a few missions together. She was pretty cool and loud. She kinda reminded me of you now that I think about it." Wow way to go, so because I choose to act like a guy I lost my chance uh. Oof- whatever. I have some important things to do and being a girl will delay it by some times.

He went on to describe her and talk about their time. "... Well she lives too far away so I thought it would be better to not tell anything. And anyway we're still young; this is merely a childish crush."

I looked at him and he appeared a bit bumped out; "Nothing is too far or too difficult when you're in love! Love makes you...(A/N: Insert some love speech I'm not good with this)"

Ten minutes later (*Spongebob voice*)

"You sound like Gai but instead of youth it's love." He said laughing.

I glared at him; "Hey! Stop laughing."

Just like that we bickered some more in this calm atmosphere until sunset. I was laying down looking at the clouds; "Say Kakashi. Why did you choose to become a Ninja?"

He looked at me weirdly; "Where did that come from?"

"Well, the teacher asked that at the academy. I was wondering what you had answered in my place."

"Hmm~ When I had just entered the academy, I guess it was to become strong like my dad and make him proud. Now I still think the same but I also want to be strong enough to protect everyone I love and help in ending the war and bring peace to the shinobi world."

I was a bit stunned; "Eh~ So you're aware of the war looming around."

"Of course, you need to be a fool to not notice. Though I am surprised you're also aware of the war."

"Hn. You'll have to be blind to not notice this tension in the air. Do you think they are aware as well."

K: "Who?"

I sat up and looked down at the village; "The people down there. The parents, children, friends, neighbors, dogs, cats; everything."

He followed my gaze; "Whether they are aware or not doesn't matter. It is our job as shinobis to protect them and ensure they can continue to smile freely without a care for the world as they are now. That's my ninja way."

I looked at Kakashi astounded that he said that. I thought he would give me a more indifferent response but then again, Kakashi does love Konoha. I mean even back when everything was only an anime and I learned of his background; I wondered why he didn't go rogue or hate the village more. I mean he was aware of the bad things the village has done but still chose to protect it to the very end. I guess that's what they mean  when they talk about the will of fire.

K:"what about you?"

I stopped my daydreaming; "What did you say?"

K: "I asked why did you choose to be a shinobi? What did you answer?"

Man Kakashi really choose today out of all days to be out of character. I coughed a bit embarrassed; "I... I didn't answer. I mean I haven't found it yet; my ninja way." And that's true; I mean my clone did give the typical kid answer of wanting to be strong or whatever but when I got the memories, I wondered what I would have really answered. I mean I AM already a ninja and choose to because I wanted to protect Kakashi, Naruto, Minato and everyone. I don't think they deserve to die or suffer as much as they did; but beyond that I don't have a reason. Well maybe I'm over thinking too much. It was but a simple question asked to a 5 year old.

Kakashi POV

Why do you look so sad Sora... It seems like you're trying to shoulder the burden of the world in such a small body.

I looked at him and he seemed so lost in thoughts; Maa~ I'm sure he'll tell me when he's ready.

I sighed and looked at the sky; it's so peaceful here. I really needed this break. I wish everything would remain this peaceful.

A/N: Chapter picture is the view of village from the Hill; since they are ninja, they can use chakra to enhance their vision hence seeing further away. Hokage mountain with only 3 heads.
