"You're officially in remission" TK said. "Congratulations Dad" I said as we all applauded. "Tumor Slayer!" Marjan pointed out and I laughed. "Way to go, Cap" Mateo said.

"About time we had some good news around here" Judd said. "Whole lotta folks been praying for you Captain" Grace said. "Well I appreciate that" Dad said.

"Um but this is the ugliest cake. I've ever seen. Why does it look like this?" Dad complained. "It's um your tumor" I said. "It's my tumor?" Dad freaked out.

"It's your tumor a year ago" Marjan said. "When it was bad" Mateo said.

"I gave your scans to the bakery" TK said. "I objected" Paul said as I laughed.

"Okay, I'm both repulsed and moved and uh I'm at a loss" Dad said. "A 73% loss" I said. Everyone cheered. "Now you are just one surgery away from that cancer being completely gone" TK said.

"Let's go!" I cheered like a football player. Everyone applauded and cheered for him.

We had some cake. I was happy for my dad but something was still on my mind. Eddie.

I can't stop thinking about him.

"Hey" Captain Vega said. "Oh hi" I said as I moved over. "Now, why are you sitting here and not over where the party is happening?" She asked me.

"I um, not a big fan of parties" I said as I drank my punch. "Y/n Lynn Strand, is not a fan of parties. Come on, spill it" She said.

I sighed. "I got a boyfriend, Eddie. Eddie Diaz" I said. "Ooh nice, what does he do?" She asked. "He's a... firefighter. Los Angeles 118. He's a got an adorable kid, Christopher" I said.

"Now, what did he do that made you sit out here all by yourself?" She asked. "Well, he didn't do anything it's just... I miss him so much. He's all the way out there and I'm here. Seeing TK and Carlos together makes me miss him even more" I said.

"Aw. Okay now, tell me how did you two meet?" She asked. "Uh.. at a bar. He asked me to line dance with him" I said.

"Ooh, fancy. Now, I'm sure you'll see him soon. Come on, enjoy the party with us" She said. "All right" I said as I stood up and walked towards Grace.

"What the hell are we looking at?" Marjan said. "Well it ain't methane" Judd said. "Smells like the Earth cut a giant fart" Mateo said. "Yeah that's the sulfur" Dad said.

"What are we saying that a hell mouth opened up under Paradise Family Fun Center?" I asked. "After the year we've had, would it really surprise you?" Dad asked. "Nope, that's about on schedule" I said.

"Underground hot springs, maybe?" Paul suggested. "Maybe" Dad said.

We put our gas masks on and walked towards the hell hole.

"SO2 is off the charts. 70ppm, Cap" Paul said. "Victor!" Dad shouted. "Victor can you hear me?" Dad shouted again. "I think I see movement it's hard to tell" I said.

"He's probably passed out from the SO2 or maybe from the heat" TK said. "Steam's hot Cap. 230 degrees" Mateo said "All right, Judd. Bring the rig as close as you can. Y/n get ready. You're going in, get a rescue grab" Dad said as I was flabbergasted.

You know, I'm not gonna lie but this is probably gonna be sick.

"I get to rappel into that?" I said. "Get to? that's an interesting choice of words" TK said as he walked behind me.

"That's as far as she'll go, Y/n" Judd said. "Hold tight, sending you in" Dad said. "Lower her down" Dad spoke as I was going in.
