so, this was the first show i saw this weekend.
originally, i never expected to see a production of newsies, but once i heard that my mom's friends daughter as in it, i took the opportunity. newsies is one of my favorite shows, and fun fact: i aspire to be katherine one day. i wasn't gonna not go see it.
it was at a catholic school i think so, being honest, i didn't have high expectations. and my expectations were met, it wasn't anything special nor was it great. it was cute, and they did fine. it was mostly little kids too.
they cut out a lot of scenes and lines and parts of songs, which some made sense but others didn't. like they cut out the entire romance plot which now makes sense because the girl and dude who played katherine and jack were siblings. they cut most of santa fe, which is understandable....i was still kinda upset tho bc i wanted to hear the dude who played jack sing it, and they also cut off "the world is your oyster" like which i honestly don't understand.
i knew the girl who played davey and she did fine. it was kinda a shock that she was there, but oh well.
it was cute, that's all i have to say really.
