Let's dive right in!

The Previous Day…6:30pm

“Bisi you have to be the one that'll pick up the bag.” Mercy concluded filing her nails. The trio were still contemplating on who'd pick the bag from the man. No one wanted to be used as a scapegoat, not even the all mighty Bisi.

They pondered on who'd make the call, it seemed like their phones were diseases as they all stayed clear from them. “I don't know oo. As you see me so, I'm tired.” Bise replied, scratching her hair. They all had forgotten about the concoction rice that was on fire in the kitchen.

“What is smelling?” Ada asked, sniffing the air. “Oooh, I totally forgot about the rice.” Bisi whined, rushing to the kitchen. Ada and Mercy both laughed, until it dawned on them; that was the last portion of rice they had left. “Bisi, do something about that rice oo.” Ada chided.

“Don't you people have nose, didn't you perceive that the rice was burning?” Bisi hissed, fanning herself due to the heat in the room. Another problem they had, light; it wasn't the first time their light was cut off nor was it going to be the last. Incessant begging had the power supply officials to have a change of mind and have mercy on them everytime.

“Aren't you the one cooking the rice?”Mercy retorted with an eye roll. “Anyhow sha, we go chop am like that.” Bisi huffed. A call on the phone from an unknown number interrupted the banter between both ladies. Three heartbeats could be heard, beating loudly in the quiet room.

“Bisi pick naw.” Mercy urged. While rubbing her palms and drawing the cross sign in the air, she picked up her phone. “Hello, good afternoon sir.” She greeted, with a slight tremble in her voice. “You and your friends should meet me at the hotel.” A husky voice ordered through the phone, ending the call in the process.

“Who was that?” Ada questioned, standing akimbo. “It was the man, he said we should all come to the hotel.” She sighed. Their bantering was all in vain, they all had to wear their big underpants and face the music they started playing.

“Oya naw, make we dey go.” Mercy said hurrying to the wardrobe to change. She was the only one that was less concerned about the whole thing. “This one you're happy like this, are we missing something here?” Ada muttered. “Wetin dey that bag fit change my life, why I no go happy.” Mercy hissed, adjusting her bra.

Few minutes later, they were all ready to leave. “Do I look good?” Mercy asked, twirling in the room. Both girls laughed and turned their backs at her. “Abeg, let's go jare. Ehen! Ada help me plug my phone, make e charge before we come back.” Bisi rushed out. As Ada made a move towards the socket, the light went off.

“NEPA!”They groaned.
