Waking up in a decent bed was different, my neck or back didn't hurt and I could actually stretch and not have my leg hanging off the bed damn. I was grateful I was able to get out early, even if some shit had to be done to do so. I sat up and was immediately greeted by my reflection, Nicole was friends with the best barber in town, he did me nice. I was liking the blonde on the top, it suited me if I said so myself. I got up wearing a white vest and a grey pair of jogging bottoms and white socks before rubbing my face. I went over to the bathroom next door and brushed my teeth. I then walked out and down the stairs to find Alex sitting on the coach with jasmine on her lap watching television.

"Morning"

I said catching her attention

"Morning santo"

She smiled slightly

"Uncle chres"

Jasmine laughed

"Morning baby"

I chuckled before going over to the kitchen

"What you cooking up, smells good"

I patted jacob's shoulder

"Scrambled eggs and bacon with salad on the side"

He licked his lips

"You good at this shit"

I grinned

"You comfortable here?"

Honey appeared from the bathroom

"Of course sis"

I nodded

Honey looked into the living room before sighing and rolling her eyes, Jacob noticed.

"Enough honey"

He said quietly

"Why she here?"

Honey kissed her teeth

"Devon alright, now stop"

He said sternly

Honey sighed once more before exiting and taking jasmine to get her dressed. Alex looked more like Alex this morning apart from her hair.

I poured myself a glass of orange juice from the refrigerator before going over to the living area and sitting on the couch to the left of Alex, I looked at her from time to time, I felt bad from not saying more to her last night. She looked beautiful, it had just been so long I didn't know if she was still her old true self.

"You still play ball?"

I asked

She laughed lightly before looking over at me

"I'm a grown woman"

She shook her head

"Age is just a number"

I shrugged

"I see your short ass grew a couple inches"

I chuckled

"I see your tall ass did too, damn what you 6'1?"

She rolled her eyes smiling

"6'2"

I replied

Just then there was a knock at the door

"I'll get it"

Honey came from down the stairs and looked through the little hole in the door, she looked over at Alex before opening it.  In came Dee, or Devon or whatever his name was.

"Dee go to work"

Alex said straight away

"I'm meant to be, no come on baby why can't you just believe me this once"

He sighed walking over to her not paying attention to anybody else

"We'll leave y'all too it"

Honey said while I was about to get up

"Nah stay"

Alex said slight annoyance in her voice

"I'd never hurt you, I love you"

Devon crouched down in front of her

"Bullshit"

She said plainly

He leaned in and kissed her cheek while she stayed still before pulling away and standing up settling his suit.

"I'll be back later, sorry honey"

He said before leaving and shutting the door behind him lightly

"I don't understand y'all gonna make up anyways"

Honey shrugged

"Imma go"

Alex jumped up before going upstairs her arms folded

"You didn't have to do that"

I looked at honey

"You know know her anymore chres, don't let her innocent act fool you"

Honey kissed her teeth

"What innocent act"

My eyes narrowed

"¿Tú aún la amas?"

She looked directly at me

"No of course not, I don't even know her, I'm just saying chill, dejar de actuar como poco perfecta señorita"

I stood up and walked past her before going back up the stairs

"Little miss perfect !?"

She scoffed

"Yes honey, we've all made mistakes and fucked up, I've been here a day and already feel like Imma be judged"

I kissed my teeth
