"Do you think you could take it?" Jenna asked, curled up the couch with you. "The role, I mean?" You sighed. You had just auditioned for this role, about a dysfunctional father-daughter relationship. The script was sent to you, they wanted you for the role. You loved it, you really did, and so did Jenna, but neither if you knew if you were ready for it.

"I- I don't know." Your fingers traced patterns on Jenna's skin. "It's an amazing concept, I love it. It would be an amazing role to have. But it feels so weirdly specific. I don't know if it's like some sort of message that I'm meant for this role."

"That'd be pretty cool, like if roles were made for different actors." Jenna laughed, making you let out a small chuckle. "I mean there are... What if they wanted this role for you, it was curated for you?" You frowned at the possiblity.

"How would they know about my family? I haven't talked to anyone about them except for you, and they wouldn't dare speak about this because it'll ruin their reputation." You sat up a little higher. "Do you think someone leaked my past?"

Jenna immediately shook her head. "No, no, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to bring that up." She patted your chest. "I was just thinking about your other roles, and you do so well with emotional stuff, what if they made this character because you're really good at them." You raised an eyebrow, it was a nice save, you have to give her that.

What she said made you think about it. The two of you fell into silence, watching the show that you both had forgotten was playing. "I think I'll do it." You whispered, making Jenna look at you. You looked back at her. "I mean, what if it can help others? They told me the movie isn't supposed to have a whole character arc where things end up happy and jolly, it's supposed to make you realize that what's going to happen in this movie is real and happens to people. It's like the Fallout." You pointed out, referencing the film she did with Maddie Ziegler.

"I'm really proud of you, you know." She mumbled as she admired you. You huffed at her, not believing her one second. "Seriously! Like you're one of the strongest people I know." You just wrapped your arms around your girlfriend, peppering kisses across her face.

You swallowed thickly. It was time to film one of the scenes that you've been dreading. They had David Harbour playing your opposing role, and he was an absolute angel about it. The whole crew was. You played Charlotte, he played Nathan.

"Charlotte." He stammered, shocked to see you at the door. "Come in." You had your arms crossed, a serious look on your face as you followed him inside. "What do I owe the pleasure?"

"Drop it, Nathan." He grimaced at the fact that you called him by his name and not Dad. "You know why I'm here." He shrugged, feigning confusion. "Don't play stupid with me, where's my shit?"

It's like his face changed. "Don't swear at me, young lady." He pointed.

"Just give me my things, or I'll call the police." You had to make sure you didn't look scared. You realized why he wanted you here. "What do you want from me?"

"Can't I reconnect with my daughter?" He held out his hands, taking a step towards you. You took a step back out of fear. "Charlie, come on..."

You stopped him. "You can't. No, you don't deserve to call me that." You moved him out of the way, going to leave right away. He baited you.

"It's like no matter what I do, I'm the bad guy." He called out, stopping you from leaving. You shut your eyes, feeling the tears start to well in your tears. "I'm a terrible dad, aren't I. Running my only kid out of home. Yet when I try to reconnect with her and apologize, I'm still a bad guy."
