In researching this book, I'm pleased to report that Tracy had a very successful singing career, achieved a good measure of fame on Broadway, and eventually married what seemed to be a good man. A few videos of her performances have popped up on my YouTube feed, and in one, she is the exact same Tracy who sang "Magic" to me. Only the passage of thirty-five years allowed me to laugh instead of being ashamed it had meant so much to me, on that life-changing night in 1984.

Until a few years ago, other than once mentioning the Daily Double, I never told anyone about Tracy, and my memories of her were mostly negative. Peter, my friend of over thirty years, recently asked me about women I dated in the 1980's. While discussing Tracy, I recalled what an amazing woman she was, the fun we had, and why I fell for her, if only briefly. By the time I finished the tale, I felt a new fondness and gratitude for having known her.

The End.
