Chapter 11: In a blink of an eye

With that sentence alone was enough for Sabo to stop the flowing of his tears, "w... what?".

"You heard me..." Ace stood up, not looking at the crying blonde, "... I think it would be better that you go there, leave Foosha Town and go to Goa City".

"Ace... w-why are you saying this...? Are... are you joking right now?".

"No, Sabo I'm not joking around, I just...", he then bit his lip, clenched his fist, and said the last thing he wanted to say to him, "... don't wanna be friends with you anymore, there I said it".

Sabo stood up immediately, and in his eyes were tears starting to form. "Wait, why is that?!" Sabo said shakily, but didn't got a response from him, "Ace please! Answer me!".

"I'm sorry..." was the only thing he had to say before turning towards the trapdoor, but was eventually tackled by Sabo from behind, "what the... Sabo let me go!".

"Never! Not until you tell me the reason why you don't wanna be friends with me anymore!", he replied as droplets of tears were starting to drop, "was it something I did wrong? Did I annoy you that much? Just tell me!".

"You really wanna know, fine! Yes, you annoy me, you being a crybaby all the time, your clumsiness that always getting us in trouble, and how you act immature!" Ace shouted right after he pushes Sabo away, "I regret being your friend".

The whole place went silent after what Ace had said, regretting every sentence he had said. Then footsteps can be heard down the tree house, Dragon's voice can be heard below and shouted "Kids? Come down now!".

Sabo kept quiet but walked towards the trapdoor whilst he stared at Ace with anger inside him, shortly after Sabo climbed down Ace followed behind him, still feeling guilty about what he had said to him. Once they were on the ground, Outlook and Didit came towards Sabo, while Dadan did the same with Ace, Dadan took Ace's hand and said in a quiet tone, "come on... let's get going now".

With no hesitation Ace agrees and walks away from the tree house, "Hey Dadan...", he said which got her attention, "... I feel really bad today, because I said so many mean things to Sabo, so that he can move to Goa City... even tho I don't want him to go...".

Dadan was about to say something, but the both then heard a faint voice coming from behind. They turned around to see Sabo, calling for his former friend "Ace! I have something to tell you!", he then dashed towards them in the middle of the street, not knowing the dangers that's about to occur.

In a blink of an eye, a semi truck appeared across the street, not seeing the little boy crossing. It felt like time had slowed down for a second, as the truck slowly approached Sabo, not giving him the time to avoid. With a loud crash and the screech of the brakes, a motionless blonde was now laying on the concrete ground, blood trickling on his limbs, and the majority of the left side of his face was now a big scar due to a fragment of glass that flew across him, everyone immediately ran towards him as Dragon called an ambulance. Guilt has now taken over Ace's whole entire body, his shaky breathing rapidly increased, cold sweat dripping from his face, and tears now falling from his eyes.

Ace, Dadan, Dragon, Outlook, and Didit (wow triple d's ○_○) waited by the operating room, Outlook trying to calm his crying wife, Dragon is just sitting by the door, fiddling his thumbs trying to stay calm in his own, beside him was Dadan leaning against the white walls with her arms cross and foot tapping on the tiled floor. While Ace was mostly quiet and too worried about him, regretting so much about what he said to him, he just wishes to make it up to him somehow. Then the operating room doors swung open to reveal a doctor, Outlook and Didit rushed towards the doctor, asking if Sabo is alright, The doctor replied "your son is alright... but he has been diagnosed with amnesia, meaning that he has no further memory about anything...".

Ace was shocked to hear that his friend has amnesia, Didit was now wailing out her despair as Outlook held her in his arms, "Thank you for letting us know, Doctor", he thanked the doctor as he left the area, "oh Sabo please forgive me... I'm a shitty dad, and I know it".

"No, you're not a shitty dad, Outlook...", Dadan said which got the two parents attention, "... you only did what was best for your family, and I get that, but..." she then looks over at Ace, seeing those dried tears in his face, clenching his shorts, "... but you shouldn't say something like that to yourself when you raised him all his life!".

Outlook looked over to Dadan and spoke, "I understand that, But that still doesn't change the fact that I am a shitty dad, and I can't look at Sabo the same way I use to, so...", he then walked towards Dragon and placed his hand on his shoulder, "... Dragon, I want you to take care of Sabo, and don't ever tell him anything about evrything today, about me or Didit, and not about the moving to Goa City".

Dragon who was surprised at by the sudden request he said, but looks over to the operating room where inside was Sabo. He then finally respond, "okay Outlook, I'll do it, for you two and his sake".

Ace then walked over to him, tugged him by his long sleeves and spoke in a quiet manner, "please don't tell him, Mister Dragon, don't tell him... about me".

"What?", Dragon replied, "...why not he's your friend...".

"Because I said so many mean things to him, and then this all happend because of me! I just don't want him to remember that again, so please...", he looks up at him as freshly new tears were now in his eyes, "Please don't tell him, Mister Dragon".

Dragon, who was hesitant to reply back, thought about it, thinking it would spare the boy's feelings, so he sighed in relief and placed a hand on his raven hair and replied"... I will".
