'Luffy's POV'
I finally managed to avoid Sabo and his questions about who is Fire Fist. Well, I have a free period today, might as well go to the cafeteria and get some grub. I stepped down the stairs, then saw Sabo emerged out of the infirmary with a shocked expression, he glanced over me and immediately marched towards me, is he still searching who Fire Fist still is? When will he let that go?!
"Hey Sabo, uhm... before you ask me again-".
"Luffy have you seen Ace?", he cutted me off for a second there.
...wait, why is he looking for Ace? "Wait what? You're looking... for Ace?", I asked repeating his question.
"Yes! And do you know where he is! I just closed my eyes for a second and when I woke up, HE WAS GONE!!", he said in a frantic way.
I am... basically speechless right now, like I know they're now friends, but ain't it a bit sus that Sabo is searching for Ace, unless, DID HE FIND OUT THAT ACE IS FIRE FIST?! I wanted to run away again like my feet are screaming at me to run, but my heart is screaming to not run away this time, and another but my brain is telling me something else. "Well, I haven't seen him today Sabo, so sorry", I said while I rubbed the back of my head, "...but can I ask why are you looking for him?".
It took him a while for a response, since he already knows, patience is my mortal enemy. "I kinda need to check on him... just tell me if you ever seen him", we then saw Ace on the other end of the hallway and Sabo immediately bolted at his direction, of course I'm not just gonna leave like that, what kind of a roommate/friend would I if I were to let my roommate/friend to get in trouble, so I dashed behind Sabo quietly, since I am gonna spy on them two. I quickly found a corner near where they were meeting each other, I saw Ace noticing Sabo running towards him and stopped at his tracks.
"Oh, hey Sabo...", Ace greeted looking a bit... nervous? Oh, maybe the fact Sabo knew he is Fire Fist makes it more awkward for the two of them, alright alright.
"Don't 'hey Sabo' me, you left without saying a word, you'll make me more worried about you, you know...", Sabo replied while he was catching his breath from the running.
Okay, I know that I'm supposed to be spying on them, but given by the current state of this convo, and me being a lil o' eavesdropper thanks to Nami, I just can't help but get into their conversation since the tea is getting hot! "...well. you just sounded so asleep, and I didn't wanna to bother you, so... yeah", Ace said while still looking nervous.
"But still, you can't just do that while you're still in recovery, like what if the injury would get bigger and you would pass out from blood loss, and I wouldn't be there for you, and, and...".
"Sabo...", Ace replied softly as he got near him, "... I'm fine, honest, and even if I somehow pass out due to blood loss, I'm sure one of my friends will be there for me...". He plastered a smile for Sabo, where I saw a hint of color on those freckles of his, he then quickly looking at the opposite direction of Sabo's face and kinda stuttered his words "S-So there's no need to w-worry about me that much, n-nope none at all!".
'Wait why the fuck was he stuttering all of a sudden? This does not compute to me at all!!'.
"Well then, I gotta go now so, Byeee!", he said in a hurry as he dashed away from Sabo. Strange... Ace also has a free period today.
