Goodbye Gang

"Good morning Blackrose" Toothless
teased me as I ran over to him. "Oh shut
up. It's a better name than Toothless" I told
him with a sly grin. "Okay, okay, point
taken" Toothless said laughing. "The
humans are repairing Dragons Edge this
morning so I was wondering if you
wanted to join me for a walk" Toothless
offered. "Of corse" I smiled. "So how do
you do it?" Toothless asked me as we
walked along the beach. "Do what?" I
asked confused. "Light up your scales so
they glow?" Toothless asked. "Oh well it's
happened since I was a hatchling. It
usually happens when I'm angry or when
I'm standing up to someone. Over time I've learnt to control it" I explained.
"Do you think I could ever learn it?" Toothless asked out of nowhere.
"I think the power is in every Night Fury. It might happen if you where really trying to protect someone" I told him. Toothless nodded.

I hung out with Stormfly for a while
before seeing Toothless again in the
afternoon. My escape plan had been put
on hold. Partly because I actually enjoyed
being here with the humans and with Jade,
but mainly because of my soulmate. I
knew I would have to return to The
Golden Enclave eventually, but for now I
would stay here. At least for a tiny bit
longer.

In the evening me and Toothless walked
back to the huts where we found the
humans talking amongst themselves as they sat around a fire. "Are you sure?
She's doing so well" Hiccup said. "She's a
wild dragon. She doesn't wear a saddle
and probably has a family somewhere"
Jade said. I stopped and put out my wing
which Toothless walked into. "Hey, what
gives?" Toothless snapped at me. "Shhh!
Listen" I told him as I crawled towards the
back of a hut and hid behind it. "Then we
go with her and find them. Imagine if we
found more Night Furies! We could bring
them back and train them" Hiccup said
getting excited. "No! They're the wildest
dragons we know about and I think they
deserve to be wild and free" Jade told
everyone. "But they're Night Furies! Night
Furies!" Snotlout shouted. "Yeah imagine,
we could all get a pet one!" Tuffnut said.
"Yeah and think of all the pranks we could
pull off if we had a Night Fury's help!"
Ruffnut grinned. "Oh and think of all the research we could do. We could finally
finish the book of dragons!" Fishlegs said
hugging the book. "It would be pretty cool
to study them. And imagine a little baby
Toothless" Astrid said with a sparkle in
her eye. Jade sighed. "She's my dragon,
you said it yourself Hiccup. So it's my
choice if she gets to be free again" Jade
said then she got up and walked away.

I looked at Toothless. "She's right, you do
have a family" Toothless said. "But you're
a a part of it" I reminded him. We both
sighed. "Blackrose, come here girl" Jade
called. "Gotta go" I said to Toothless as I
ran off to find Jade. "I don't know what to
do" Ruby Jade as she sat down on the
beach. "On one hand I agree that we
should study Night Furies, but on the other
hand you need to go back to wherever you
came from" Jade told me. I lay down next to her and put my head on her lap.
"It would be selfish for me to keep you. What do you want girl?" Jade asked me. I
looked out over the ocean. Honestly I felt
my heart torn two ways. But I was an
alpha and with that title cane responsibility. I flapped my wings slightly and let out a soft purr. Jade nodded. "I get it. You need to be free. And this time I don't care what the others say" Jade said running off to find Hiccup.

"No it's been decided" Hiccup said to the
rest of the humans. "I actually agree with
Jade, Blackrose is a wild dragon and she
should be free again. Yes, she's doing well
with us, but she doesn't belong here and
she's not happy" Hiccup said. "But she's a
Night Fury for Thor's sake!" Snotlout
screamed. "Yeah and I like her" Tuffnut
said. "I second that" Ruffnut agreed.
"But the unfinished Book Of Dragons..."
Fishlegs protested. "Yeah Hiccup, how can
you just agree to this?" Astrid asked.
"Astrid can you please back me up here?"
Hiccup asked. "Okay, you heard him.
Blackrose is going free" Astrid sighed.
"Hiccup's right and we gathered plenty of
information anyway, she should be free
now" Fishlegs finally agreed. "Okay, four
against three, she goes free" Jade told
everyone. "Alright at dawn me and Jade
will fly her to Dragon Island, she knows
her way from there" Hiccup said closing
the meeting.

The humans all said their goodbyes to me
and after that I went to see the dragons.
"We will all miss you. I hope you find
your family and everything works out and
I'm so glad to have met you" Meatlug told
me. "You're such a hero to us, I hope you
will be happy" Belch said. "And I wish
you good luck my fellow friend" Barf
added. "Good choice escaping the
humans! Wish I could do the same. I hope
you'll be okay. And don't worry, I'll take
over the role of alpha when you're gone"
Hookfang boasted. "I'll miss you so much.
Thank you for everything and I hope you
find happiness and everything works out
for you" Stormfly told me. "I'll never
forget you all and I hope you will
remember me. Thank you all for being
here for me and I wish you all the best" I
said smiling. "They really can talk to each
other" Hiccup said smiling as he watched
us all. "Alright, come on guys" Astrid said
calling back the dragons. And with that we
departed and it was just me and Toothless.

"Well it's going to be a long flight tomorrow, we better get some rest" Toothless said. "Or we could enjoy our
last night together" I said with a smirk.
Toothless grinned and we found a nice spot by a river to spend the night.
