Chapter 6: Keeping a sharp eye

At the cafeteria today, I'm with some of my friends since the rest are busy or not hungry, the friends who are here are Usopp, Nami, Sanji, and Zoro. Robin is studying for a test coming up soon, Brook is still having music class today, the curse of being a young teacher, Chopper is helping Doctorine in the infirmary today saying there was a school fight earlier, and Franky is also studying with Robin, honestly their a cute couple. I looked around the area for the two, and luckily for me I did. Sabo is on his table with the other student body members, and no dad in sight. Sweet. I saw Ace on his table far apart from Sabo's table, he's with Marco, Yamato, and his group also.

I was so focused on the two that I didn't noticed Nami calling my name, once I heard her saying my name again I snapped back to reality. "Luffy! Earth to Luffy?", she said while poking me with her spoon.

"Huh, yeah?", I replied while staring at her, "sorry about that... I was zoning out for a while".

"Zoning out?" Usopp joined in, "that's not something you usually do... is there something going on with you lately?".

"Oh, no no no, nothing at all!", I replied waving my hands around and shaking my head.

Nami and Usopp just shared a questioning look between them, since the two act like siblings all the time. I continued to glance over Ace and Sabo, I noticed that Sabo would always steal glances of Ace across from his table, like his spectating him very closely, and whenever Ace caught Sabo staring at him, he would avert his gaze at Ace and continue chatting with his friends.

"What cha' lookin at?", I heard Zoro spoke as he looks at the direction I was looking, "Why are ya' looking at Ace and Sabo?".

"Whaaaat? No I'm not!" I protest, but Zoro knows me too well, so I have no choice but to use my ultimate trump card... forgive me for doing this to you Zoro "...so Zoro, how's Perona lately?".

With what I said, Zoro gave me an 'oh you bitch' look, Sanji stopped to what he was doing earlier then stared directly at the green haired male, while he prepared for the worst, Nami and Usopp dramatically gasp at to what I just started, "you've been seeing Perona these days...?", he said very very aggressively.

"Look, Sanji! It's not what you might think, okay", Zoro respond trying to calm his boyfriend down, "we were just in a study group together with Tashigi and-".

"Oh so there's other girls you've been seeing lately!", Sanji cut him off getting more angrier at him with each sentence.

"It's not like that! Honestly!".

The two continued to argue while Nami and Usopp watched the drama to start, and somehow got their popcorn at the ready, like where did they popcorn from? My gaze trailed back to Ace, who looked a bit annoyed and angry, he just walked away from their table heading out, along with Marco behind him. Sabo noticed it and immediately rose from his seat as he chases after him quietly, of course I did the same.

Once I was about to open the door of the cafeteria, I was met with Sabo waiting for me in the entrance. I stopped where I was and tried to scurry back, but he grabbed me by the back of my polo shirt, to which I started choking. "Okay Luffy, spill it...", Sabo said looking intimidated, "... why are you spying on me? What's the deal?".

I tried to speak back to him, but with him grabbing the back of my polo shirt, it's getting hard to breathe, "... can't... breathe...", I managed to spill the words I needed to say aloud for him to hear me. He let go of my polo shirt and I immediately gasp for air, "... I was getting suspicious that you would be looking for Ace, so I needed more info", I spoke while still gasping for air.

Sabo was a bit confused, until it hit him, "oh that! Yeah, I was looking for him earlier since he did hit his head on the stairs earlier, and partially my fault at it...".

I stayed silent for a bit, then asked the most risky question, "so you still haven't know who Fire Fist is?".

"Still nothing since you refuse to tell me...". So this was all because of Ace falling down the stairs with Sabo, and here I thought that he knew, "now I gotta get going, I need to check on him so he wouldn't get hurt more...", he then ran towards Ace's direction as I waved goodbye.

So all of my spying was all a waste of my time, but it's cool tho I really felt like a spy going undercover. I soon feel my phone buzzing in my front pocket of my polo shirt, I took out my phone and saw a message from Ace, saying; 'Hey Lu, there's a punk gang from another school who wants to challenge me again, so don't wait up for me in the dorms'. I typed 'K' and kept my phone in, but that was when I realized... Sabo is going to his direction.
