Chapter 10

Reese finished her dinner so she got out of her chair and left the hall, making her way to the library. When she walked in Blake was already there, oh shit I hope I'm not late.

"Hey! Sorry I hope I didn't keep you waiting." She apologized

"No it's okay I just got here, sit down." He smiled and pulled out her chair with his wand.

"Okay so I say we start by brainstorming what things we can make that are alive, with Italian seasoning." Blake said. Reese started to laugh because that entire sentence sounded so dumb.

She couldn't control her laughter as she said, "Sorry it's just so funny that we got Italian seasoning, anyways I think we should either turn it into something spotted or something Italian." She managed to get out after controlling her laughs.

"We can turn it into like a hand, I heard Italians have a fetish for that." Blake said, completely serious.

"And where did you hear this from Blake?" Reese laughed

"I don't know, just through the grapevine." He smiled

"Your Italian aren't you," she said

"Yeah."

"Anyways, I say we turn it into a spotted chicken." Reese said ignoring the previous conversation.

"Sounds good to me" he said, but truly also was trying to get past the conversation they had before.

They both got up and went over to the transfiguration section, Reese already knew the spell, but she was sure Blake didn't, and while she was looking at transfiguration books, Blake was looking at farm animal books, insisting that they would help in their project.

Once they were settled, Reese dove into her book, and Blake looked along with her, she found a section about turning inanimate objects into live animals and found a few spells to try.

"It is getting kind of late and I have astronomy tonight so how about we end here and resume tomorrow?" Reese suggested.

"Sure! We can pick this up tomorrow, I can take the books." Blake said, getting up out of his chair.

"Perfect, thanks Blake I'll see you tomorrow!" She said as she hurried out of the library to take a nap. It was 7:45 and Reese had to wake back up at 10 for astronomy so she hurried back to her dorm to catch some sleep. She casted a sleep charm on herself and set an alarm for 9:30 because she would never normally be able to fall asleep at this time, but with her charm she was knocked out right away.

Reese jolted awake as her alarm sounded, breaking her out of her peaceful trance. She got out of bed and made her way to the bathroom, just to freshen up, changed her clothes back into her robes and made her way out of the dorm. The astronomy tower was a little hard to find compared to her other classes, but she still managed to get there on time. When she walked up she saw that the class was very small, only a few Ravenclaw, mostly Slytherin, and one Gryffindor who she did not know. She saw Jack when she walked up and approached him happily to see a familiar face.

"Hey, I didn't know you were taking astronomy." She spoke, happy to see his stance more relaxed when he saw her than before.

"Oh yeah, I didn't know you were taking it either. This is quite a small class." He said quietly "Are you excited for detention tomorrow?" He asked

"Oh my gosh I completely forgot, definitely worth it though I haven't laughed that long in a while." She said

"I had to do something, I was practically falling asleep." His tone was very playful, but his eyes started to falter when it seemed like he had seen something behind him.

"Nott! I didn't know you knew Reese," Mulciber said as he put his arm around her, "We know each other very well," He smirked

"First of all I met you two days ago, and second of all take your arm off me. Do you not remember what happened earlier today?" Reese said with sharpness to her words.

"She's a feisty thing isn't she." Mulciber laughed before turning to speak to the rest of his friends. It seemed like it was mostly the same group from her potions class, his two friends who are in front of him in potions, Lestrange and rosier she learned them to be where in her astronomy class, along with tom riddle, who she noticed was looking at her during her entire conversation with Mulciber.

The class went on pretty smoothly, and became much more fun when she let them use the telescopes. Her and Jack were pointing out star alignments that looked like their teachers' faces. The class came to an end much quicker than she expected, and she was almost sad that it was over.

"Want me to walk with you to your dorm? It's on the way to Slytherin." Jack said, still somewhat walking with his friends.

"Sure I guess," Reese said hesitantly since she didn't feel comfortable around the other Slytherins.

The group continued walking together, but not really, since Reese and Jack were trailing behind, but it was okay since the Slytherins were not going out of their way to drop her off anyways. When they got to the tower, the group stopped.

"I'll see you tomorrow Reese," Jack said as she was halfway in the room.

"Yup see you tomorrow," She said. Before closing the door she heard Mulciber say,

"Are you sure you don't want me coming in there with you?"

"Positive," she said sarcastically, before she closed the door, again jack interrupted her,

"By the way, Slytherin is hosting a party on Friday, the rest of the Gryffindors are going (Finley, Logan, and Blake), you should come." He offered, "It's an open house so don't worry about being the only Ravenclaw,"The last part sounded sympathetic but really he was making fun of her for her house, jokingly.

"I'm not sure if I can, Slughorn invited me to some dinner party on Friday." She explained, really just trying to get out of the party. The boys went quiet after hearing those words.

"Slughorn invited YOU to slug club?" Tom spoke for the first time to her all night.

"They are really just inviting any mudbloods now." Rosier scoffed

"Oh yeah he invited me yesterday, slug club that is what it is called." She said innocently

"Slughorn never invites people on the first day." Tom said, looking confused.

"Well people also said Hogwarts doesn't have transfers so someone is lying to you guys," She laughed, getting frustrated at the fact that they didn't believe her.

"Well, we are all also in slug club so you can go with us after the party," Jack offered, but she could tell the rest of the boys were getting annoyed.

"Sure maybe I'll get back to you, goodnight," was all she said before finally closing the doors and going back to her room. She was exhausted, and when she laied in bed she fell asleep right away, sinking into her sheets and quenching her need for relaxation.
