"I will go as well," Aerys spoke, calling attention to himself. "A dragon may be needed in case Daemon becomes to restless."

Viserys nodded his assertion, looking to his brother in thanks.

...

Fog covered the harsh landscape of Dragonstone. Aerys walked beside Otto, leading members of the Kingsgaurd and two Dragonkeepers up the walkway to the castle. Tirvi flew overhead, watching as his rider faced his brother.

Daemon stood before the small army Otto had gathered, the egg in one hand. Behind him stood a beautiful woman dressed all in white and ten or so gold cloaks. Tossing the egg into his other hand, Daemon looked to his brother.

"Welcome to Dragonstone."

"Your occupation of this island is at an end." Otto spoke, dragging Deamon's attention from Aerys. "You're to relinquish the dragon's egg, disband your army, banish your whore, and leave Dragonstone by order of His Grace, King Viserys."

"Where is the King? I don't see him."

"His Grace would never lower himself to entertain such a mummer's farce."

"Aerys," Daemon spoke, turning back to his brother. "Do you lower yourself to this mummer's farce?"

"Daemon," Aerys sighed. "Return the egg, you've done enough harm to Viserys already."

"Harm?" Daemon repeated, a look of hurt flashing in his eyes.

"This is truly a pathetic show, Daemon." Otto spoke once again, stealing Daemon's attention. "Are you so desperate for the King's attention that you resorted to skulking about like a common cutpurse?"

"I'm simply keeping with the traditions of my house, the same as my brother did for his heir."

"Those traditions are for the trueborn children of royalty, not for bastards fathered on a common whore."

"Lady Mysaria is to be my wife."

"This is an abomination."

"With every breath you soil your name, your house,m and your brother's reign."

"Our love does not know titles and traditions." Daemon once again turned to face his brother. "Tell me Aerys have you asked for the Lady Alicent's hand yet?"

"Be careful brother," Aerys warned his hand moving to the hilt of his sword.

"And what of you men of the City Watch, aiding the Prince in his treason?" Otto addressed the men behind Daemon, cataloging the information for later.

"The King made me their commander. They are loyal to me." Daemon held the egg out with one hand. "You've come for the egg. Here it is."

"Are you mad?" Ortto asked. "You'd never survive this."

"Well happily neither would you."

"To choose violence, here, is to declare war against your King."

"Wonderful."

Aerys couldn't help but roll his eyes at the dramatics of the two. Whistling loudly, the prince called to his dragon. Stepping forward as Tirvi landed on the walkway behind Daemon and the city watch. Stepping forward, Aerys' hand remained on his hilt.

"Let this be over brother, give me the egg."

"No!" Daemon cried,, unsheathing his weapon and pointing the blade at Aerys. Both armies unsheathed their blades, as Tirvi roared.

A high pitched whistle came from the castle, as Caraxes climbed over the wall. Tirvi roared at his brother.

"All of you, sheathe the fucking steal." Otto ordered, fearing the worst.

The sound of another dragon came from the right. The men looked on in confusion, waiting to see what beast had just arrived. Syrax broke through the heavy fog, circling the walkway they stood on and landing behind the white cloaks.

The Knights parted as Rhaenyra walked past them making her way to stand beside Aerys. Otto tried to intervene, blocking the Princess's path, but Aerys spoke up.

"Let her pass, Otto." The prince and heir to the throne ordered.

"Take care not to startle Syrax, my lords. She's rather protective of me." Rhaenyra warned. "My father named Aerys Prince of Dragonstone. The Castle you're living in, Uncle.

"You have angered your King, your brother." Aerys spoke.

"I don't see why. This is a day of celebration, I am to be wed." Daemon argued.

"You already have a wife or did you forget, brother?"

"Not one of my choosing."

"And this required you to steal my brother's egg?" Rhaenyra asked.

"You shared your cradle with a dragon when you were born. I want the same for my child."

"Youre to have a child?" Rhaenyra asked, causing Daemon to look back at the woman beside him.

"One day." Daemon spoke.

Aerys watched as the woman's face fell and she turned to leave. "I'm right here, brother. The object of your ire, the reason you were disinherited. If you want to be restored as heir so badly, you'll need to kill me." A moment of silence passed between the brothers, both remembering Aerys childhood.

Daemon had been seven when Aerys had been born to some noble woman, their father had fallen into bed with after the death of his wife. Prince Baelon had passed not long after Aerys' second name day, leaving the boy to be raised by a thirteen year old Viserys and a nine year old Daemon. The two prince's loved their younger brother dearly, Daemon especially. The Rogue prince had been the one to teach Aerys the way of the blade. But at some point Daemon had forgotten the love he held for his little brother.

"Will you kill me, Daemon?"

Damon turned away, throwing the egg over his shoulder right into Rhaenyra's chest. Luckily the Princess had managed to catch it.

Tirvi lifted off the walkway as Daemon and his City Watch neared. Landing closer to where his  rider stood, watching Rhaenyra place the Egg in the charcoal brazier. With a smile, Rhaenyra looked over shoulder at her uncle.

Nodding Aerys made his way to Tirvi, climbing onto the Dragon's back as Syrax lifted into the air.

...

The next morning Aerys took his seat at his brother's left hand. The King stood looking out the window, as the rest of the members of the Small council entered the room. Aerys could tell Viserys was stressed from the way his shoulders were tensed as he stared out at King's landing

"Good Morrow my lords," Viserys greeted the room as he turned from the window. "I have decided to take a new wife."

Lord Corlys sat up straighter upon the announcement. A smug smile growing on the white haired man's face.  Aerys was aware, and disgusted, Lord Corlys had been pushing his twelve year old daughter onto his brother.

"I intend to marry the Lady Alicent Hightower-"

Aerys abruptly stood up, his chair scraping against the ground. His eyes locked on Alicent who was avoiding his gaze.

Lord Corly also stood from his seat, anger clearly written on his face. "This is an absurdity. My house is Valyrian, the greatest power in the realm."

"And I am your King." The room was tense as Lord Corlys looked to where Otto sat, his daughter standing directly behind him. "Rhaenyra?"

The Princess quickly left the room and Viserys turned to his brother. "Aerys?"

The prince glared at his brother, before turning and following after Rhaenyra.

The King felt his blood turn to ice at his brother's coldness. He had never been on the receiving side of the Silent Prince's ire. Viserys glanced to Lady Alicent, wondering if he had made the wrong choice.
