Chapter 5: Please be alright...

Start from the beginning

I managed to not fall over the stairs again by his weight, but it's somehow getting a bit difficult now to drag this guy to the infirmary, maybe I should start working out sometime. After a long and tired walk to the infirmary, I finally made it, Oh thank the stars!!, everyone may not see it but I'm visibly crying right now. I slid the door open and looked around to see if Doctorine is here, to my expectations she is here! Just... drinking again. I snapped out and spoke in an instant, "Doctorine! I need your help, a friend of mine hit his head at the edge of a window frame and his head is bleeding!".

She slammed her flask on the table, which was pretty loud to be honest, and then commanded "put him on one of the beds, and keep the leakage in with pressure I don't want no blood stains on my freshly white sheets", as she hurriedly searched for the things she needed.

I did as she said and I drag him again as I layed Ace down on the nearest bed whilst I still have my handkerchief on the wound, it looked like that the bleeding has slowed down but it wasn't stopping. "Doctorine? Are you done finding the things you need?", I asked while a hint of panic was in my voice.

"Could 'ya hold your horses!" I could hear her from the back as she ramages through her medical supplies, while I was still putting pressure on Ace's head, I was very much having a worried look on me and having a slight panic attack about what is happening today.

Can't believe that my clumsiness would lead someone hurt, I just can't help it but want to bawl my eyes out, that was when I felt a warm touch on my hand, I looked to see Ace half awake. "A-Ace! You're awake!!", the excitement in my voice escaped my throat as he looked up to my direction, "Ace I'm... I'm so sorry about this, I really am!".

He glanced at me and spoke in a weak voice, "Sabo... you did... nothing wrong, so don't... apologize".

With what he said somehow triggered something inside me, like I heard that phrase somewhere before. I wanted to respond to him back, but Doctorine just soccer punched him right at the stomach making Ace passed out, "DOCTORINE WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!".

"A patient needs to rest, so that's what I did...", she respond as she organized all of the needs to patch up Ace's head, then she tossed me an ice pack which I luckily caught it. I looked at her with a confusing look, she sighs and spoke, "that is for your swollen hand...", she then pointed at my hand, I looked at it and it was swollen, it must've been from the locker door that I accidentally slammed in.

I placed the ice pack on my swollen hand then grabbed a chair near Ace's bed as I watched how Doctorine patches his head with gauze and a cloth. I still can't forget that thing Ace said to me, I feel like that I remember someone saying those exact same words and it's in the tip of my tongue. I let out a yawn while I feel my eyelids getting heavy, I didn't know that darkness was all I saw now as I easily drift off to sleep.

'Doctorine's POV'

As soon as I finished patching this kid's head, I looked over to that vice president company he had, only to see that he fell asleep. Weak. Then I feel movements by the kid laying down, he slowly gained conscious and blinked his eyes very rapidly, he looked over to me and immediately screamed at me, "YOU OLD HAG! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!". I rolled my eyes as I walked towards my flask on the desk, he still continued screaming tho "YOU ARE LUCKY THAT I'M NOT DEAD YET, AND IF I WAS DEAD, OHOHO YOU WILL BE SORRY!".

"Oh fucking chill out, hot head..." I respond quite agitated, he was now quiet when I told him that. I continued "... your little friend here is asleep, so best to not wake him up", I pointed him to his friend beside his bed who is now sounding asleep right now.

He looked over to him, and had a look that said 'wait what the fuck', then he asked me quietly "was he the one who I ran into?". I just gave him a shrug since the kid never gave me a clear story about what happened, he then looked towards me and sat up from the bed, "... is he alright?".

"Yeah he's fine...", I told him while I paused taking a sip on my flask, "... just had a swollen hand, but no other injuries. In fact, he's the one who brought you here to the infirmary, and he was out of breath when he got here, so you should be thanking him...".

The kid got out of the bed and walked towards the door, "yeah... sometime in life", was all he had to say right after he left the room. I clicked my tongue at that stupid act he did, what a stupid kid... can't even hide his feelings for him.
