Overthinking Lair

Shivering despite the scorching heat of summer.

Assaulting winds, causing these tired eyes to water.

A mere thorn was enough to make my steps falter.

Blades in my head, still causing my heart to shatter.

Hiding the fantasies, cause no one understands.

Life in dirty chains, forced to obey the commands.

Unable to breath due to those restraining hands.

Trying to stand in the middle of crumbling lands.

Surviving a life where things don't go in my way.

While hearing the same old angst stories everyday.

Ignoring the toxic stains on the bed I lay.

If I can no longer fight, would someone still stay?

Unending circles of smiles turning to despair.

Strands of expectations, ingrained in my dry hair.

If the world is a game, for sure it is unfair.

Falling to my old place, my overthinking lair.
