Chapter 10: A Medal Ceremony

(Planet: Yavin 4)

Y/N's P.O.V

I make it back to base on Yavin 4.

I climb out of my X-Wing and see everyone running towards my X-Wing.

So I climb down and get a hug from Jacen.

Jacen: Man, you did it! That was awesome! What a shot!

Y/N: Thanks, man.

Just then Sabine and Leia come over and I hug both of them.

Sabine: You did it!

Leia: That was amazing!

Y/N: Thanks.

I turn to see Han and Chewie being brought over.

Han: Hey!

Y/N: Hey!

I jump at him and we hug.

Y/N: I knew you'd come back. I just knew it!

Han: Well, I wasn't gonna let you get all the credit and take all the reward!

Leia and Sabine join the hug.

Leia: I knew there was more to you than money.

We look up and see the condition R2 is in.

Y/N: Oh, crap.

I go over to him as he lowered down.

C3PO: Oh, R2. Can you hear me? Say something. You can repair him, can't you?

BD-4: (Worried beeps.)

Tech: We'll get to work on him right away.

3PO looks at me.

C3PO: You must repair him. Sir, if any of my circuits or gears will help, I'll gladly donate them

Y/N: Hey, don't worry. He's gonna be fine.

After that I leave with Sabine, J, Han, Leia and Chewie.

(Two days later)

So it's been two days since we blew up the Death Star.

Today Han and I are being given medals for our acts of bravery during the battle and for destroying the Death Star.

(A/N: Just wanted to put this here.)

Han and I step forward as the door opens.

We walk down the steps with Chewie behind us.

Leia is waiting at the end as she's the one giving us the medals.

We walk towards the front with all the Rebellion watching on.

Han and I go up and stop infront of Leia.

I look over to see Sabine with Jacen and BD-4.

Sabine smiles at me and I smile back.

I look at Leia and smile.

She smiles back at both Han and I.

After that she takes the first medal and gives it to Han.

He winks at her.

Still trying to flirt, even now.

Leia takes the next medal and gives it to me.

Han and I both bow to her.

Just then I look over and see R2 come out good as new.

I smile.

The Rebellion starts clapping and cheering for us.

I guess Han and I are Rebellion heroes now.

(The next day)

So today the Rebellion is leaving Yavin 4.

It's too dangerous to stay here now that the Empire knows we're here.

Sabine and I are moving some gear onto the Falcon.

Sabine: Hey, Y/N.

I turn to her.

Y/N: Yeah?

Sabine: Don't leave this behind.

She holds out my medal.

I chuckle.

Y/N: Oh, yeah. Thanks.

She comes over and puts it on me.

Sabine: There you go.

I smile.

Y/N: Thanks.

Sabine: You know, you looked really handsome up there yesterday.

Y/N: Thanks.

Sabine: So, we haven't had the chance to talk about what happened before you went...

Y/N: Yeah, about that. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I just... I had the feeling I could die up there and if I did die, I didn't wanna regret not kissing you.

I sigh.

Y/N: Look Sabine, I really like you. But if you don't feel the same, than that...

She pulls me into a kiss.

A moment later we pull away.

Sabine: I like you too. Alot.

I smile.

Y/N: That's good.

I lean in and we kiss again.

I then hear someone cough.

We pull away and see Han standing there.

Han: Okay, you two, enough of that. We've gotta keep packing up and get out of here.

Sabine and I nod.

Y/N: Right, sure.

Sabine goes to the cockpit.

Han: Nice one, kid. I guess you're pretty smooth after all.

He then goes to the cockpit.

Maybe having Han as apart of the Rebellion wasn't a good idea.

After everything is packed up we leave Yavin 4 and search for a new base.

It isn't gonna be easy, but with the Empire on the back foot, it shouldn't be hard.

Hopefully we'll fine a base before the Empire recovers from losing the Death Star.
