My heart pounded as I rushed through the endless hallways. The smell of heavy blood that painted the floor red grew stronger. Adrenaline rushed through my veins as my breaths got heavier and stronger. I struggled to breath as I stumbled upon every corner I rushed through.

I couldn't let him hit me. I had to run.

His steps got closer to me. The sound of his evil laughter echoed through the walls and pounded in my head. I felt my chest pound as well and it began to hurt. I stressfully ran to the nearest room and tried locking myself in it but the doorknob had fallen off from all the door slamming he created.

The scent of alcohol reeked in the room. I looked around to see if there were any windows I could jump out of but there were none. I heard him get closer and closer. My head pounded and my whole body started to heat up intensely. My hands were shaking.

Soon the door opened and he stood there watching me as I grabbed the books that were stacked on the desk next to me and threw it to him. He threw an evil smile at me as I missed him with every book I had thrown at him and soon after it turned into a furious face. I raised my eyebrows, scared of life backing away from him. "Please..." I begged silently as he got closer to me, the bleeding knife on one of his hands and the other one curled into a punch. He clenched his jaw and sniffed his anger out.

I backed away until my head hit the wall behind me, my heart pounded and burned. Tears formed in my eyes as I felt his killer eyes lock on mine but I quickly looked away. "Please..." I murmured and he laughed shortly. "What are you begging for? You disrespected me, what did you expect was going to happen?" He chuckled and moved the knife on his hand to my neck. The sharp tip created a small hole on my skin and I felt blood swimming down my neck. Tears rolled down my burning cheeks.

He applied greater force to the knife, making the whole deeper. "This will teach you," he growled at me. This was it. This is where it was all going to end.

"No!" I shouted immediately getting up from my bed. My whole body was sweaty as hell. I put my hand on my head as my heart still pounded. I felt a tight knot at the back of my throat as my stomach dropped when I stood up from bed. I started breathing heavily.

I walked over to my closet and started pulling out a bunch of clothing. This had to stop. I did all this very quietly and fast. I threw it all into a big bag as well as some shoes, shower products, makeup, and well everything that I use and need. I close the bag slowly to prevent from making any loud noises.

I put some shoes on and carefully walked to the kitchen downstairs doing my best effort on not making any sounds. This was going to be the hard part. Our floor was very squeaky. Before fully stepping on the stairs I take a big breath and only place the tip of my foot as I then gradually start adding weight. My hands were shaking and my heart was beating fast.

If he found out what I was doing I was going to die right here, right now.

I continued my way down the stairs and finally made it to the end as I then ran to the kitchen knowing that the floor wouldn't make a sound since the only messed part were the stairs.

I started looking for my car keys because surprisingly enough I had a car, but it was only to be used for school since he said that little bitches don't deserve to go to school and that his alcohol was more important than my education so I bought a car for myself with my own money. If I used it for anything else I would be punished or strangled to death. At least that's what he would tell me because he knew that if I had a chance to escape this hellhole I was not about to waste it.

I finally found them hiding under a bunch of papers that were sitting on the dining room table. I take them carefully and prepare for the most scary moments of my life. Opening and closing the doors. It might sound like I'm exaggerating in some way but every time someone opens our door it purposely squeaks and makes a loud sound so my step-father knows if someone enters or leaves the house.

I slowly turned the knob to the left side, moving my shaking hand carefully. My breaths got heavier and my hands got sweaty. I slowly started to pull the door, taking all of my time.

After all, it was only 3 a.m, the earliest he ever wakes up is at 12:00 p.m. The door made a slight squeaky sound and I stopped for a second, scared it would only get louder. I take a deep breath.

As I open the door a little more I hear coughing from above...oh no. Was he awake? I tried to ignore the sounds but they got louder and louder each time as if they were getting closer. My breathing quickened to the sounds echoing and traveling through the walls. I squeezed my eyes tightly trying to calm myself down. Once the door was wide enough I carefully took a large step outside of the house. A huge relief overcame me as I quickly closed the door.

Now that he wasn't going to hear me, I ran to my car so fast I ran out of breath in less than a second. My hands were shaking as I grabbed the keys that were in one of my bags. As I was running I looked up at my step-father's room that was visible from down here and noticed that his lights were on. "Shit shit shit shit!" I whispered rapidly as I felt my hands shake even more as the pain in my chest grew stronger and I felt my whole body just wanting to collide to the ground and die.

I ran to the other side of the car so I could go in and as I did I bumped into the front part of the car and the keys in my hands flew out onto the floor. I got on my knees to grab them but they had fallen further into the car than what I thought. Sounds from inside my house reached the outside of it. Did he see me? Tears rolled down my eyes from desperation, I couldn't reach the keys! Stressful and scary thoughts filled my head. If he saw me he was going to kill me.

I reached into the bottom of the car a little further and finally, almost like a miracle, I grabbed the keys and stood up as quickly as possible and went inside the car turning it on as fast as I could. Tears burned my skin as I looked back at the front door and then in less than a second he came out of the house with one of his big guns and started loading it.

I hit as hard as I could on the accelerator as he stepped out of the porch following me and shooting with his gun multiple times, he must've been drunk since he was aiming terribly bad. Soon I had left that hell of a house.

My heart is still pumping really hard. I put one hand on my chest as I kept driving with the other to calm down my breaths. The oceans of tears came rolling down my cheeks. I was so relieved; so happy.

Now the only problem was, where am I going now?
