Adel

I'm staring at the ceiling, I just woke up, yet it's still dark outside. One thought is bothering me; how are my classmates going to react to my returning? Who would be happy? Who would be the happiest to see me? Probably Ruby. Who wouldn't care? Josie, definitely. Billy.

Oh.

Billy.

What did Finn do to him that made Billy so scared? He doesn't even look at me anymore. I mean, I am glad, but I'm just curious. Did Finn threaten him? Or did he hit him? What happened? I should ask him.
I turned on my side and sighed, trying to fall back asleep, but it was so hard to do so. After switching sides 30 times, I just ended up going downstairs to drink water, and surprisingly, my brother woke up to it and came downstairs. "Adel? What are you doing up so early?" he asked as he rubbed his eyes.

"I couldn't sleep and I was thirsty." I replied as I put the cup on the table. "Did I wake you?" I asked. "No, no, I just couldn't sleep either." he sighed and sat on a chair. "Although I'm really tired." he yawned and I sat in front of him. "Hey, Finn? Can I ask you something?" "Go on." he said and looked at me.

"What did you do to Billy? I'm curious... He doesn't talk to me at all, and I mean, I'm glad he doesn't-- I just want to know." I shrugged.

"Ah," he straightened his back and glanced at the table before turning his gaze back on me. "I knew you'd ask this one day. You see, I visited him and talked with him. At first, he just laughed which made me quite angry, so I... kicked him. But in one specific spot, between his legs. Then I grabbed the collar of his shirt and told him to leave you alone, that's it, really." he explained calmly, but it was weird for me.

Billy? He'd give in by just a simple kick?

Okay, I am not a boy, it probably hurts, but... I wouldn't expect him to not stick by his own side. He's stubborn, but I guess he's afraid of Finn.. Yeah, he's taller and stronger than him.

I just simply nodded and intertwined my fingers as I blankly stared at the table.

"Do you believe me, Adel?" he asked and I looked at him. "Yes," I started "I just... I would not expect Billy to... Give up so easily or whatever. He's stubborn." I shrugged once again.

"Well, I may or may have not found his sensitive spot from the inside, so I could threaten him. Yes, I know, that's very rude and indecent, but I did it for your sake." he smiled and I nodded, smiling back at him.

"Thank you, Finn." I said and stood up "Let's go back to sleep." I whispered and made my way upstairs, my brother following behind.

I closed my door and said my 'good night' to my sibling and went to sleep, but this time, I finally could fall asleep easily.

"Adelina, wake up!" Finn shook my shoulders and I yawned, sitting up. "Are we late?" I asked groggily. "Not yet. Hurry up." he chuckled and left my room, I rolled my eyes and changed into my clothes and did my hair.

He's probably waking me up late on purpose. Definitely.

I walked downstairs and ate my breakfast, Finn and I left and went to school together, meeting Gilbert on the half-way there. "Hey Finn, Adel!" he smiled and hugged the both of us and we kept walking.

When we reached the school, Ruby and Diana saw me almost immediately and they both hugged me while exclaiming happily, and I hugged them back.

Inside, Charlie and Moody greeted me, saying they missed me. Billy glanced at me but didn't say anything, neither did Josie.
And Anne, she already knew I was back, but she smiled kindly at me and hugged me. Her unique red hair is so long now!

"In the past few days I met some kind Indians. There was a girl who was our age, and we became friends!" she grinned and I returned it. "Really? That sounds exciting!" I replied and she nodded. "I'm so glad you're not the type of person who would judge others by their looks or nationality!" she said and hugged me again, and I hugged her back.

"Others shouldn't judge people they don't know, really. Gilbert and Sebastian got along aswell, and I don't think I ever judged him or something. I don't have issues with others, unless if they would... Betray the other or something." I shrugged and sat on my old seat.

"I know! I'm the same, but I partly don't judge others because I'm a part of the 'weird ones'. Because of my hair, my freckles, my teeth, my lips... It's unusual." she sighed and frowned slightly as she looked down, I put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, it's okay. Diana, Cole, Gilbert, Finn, Ruby and I will always stay on your side. We will not judge you, alright?" I smiled and she nodded, smiling weakly at me.

"Anyways," she changed the topic "There's going to be a special ceremony next week. I'll tell you about it later, after class, okay?" she smiled and I straightened my back in curiousity, this catched my interest.

I nodded, and just in time, the teacher walked inside, and the class had started.
