Vol 16.

Izara pov.-

I ran straight into the house, Michael and Grace were out because their cars weren't out in the driveway

I went upstairs and went into the hallway where the attic was, I pulled the long string accessing the stairs

I walked up the stairs

When Jasmine died, Michael boxed up all her things, throwing it in the attic. He didn't even go through her things like none of things meant nothing to her.

She had a lot of boxes, so it might just take a while

*20 minutes later*

"Ugh, I don't think I'll ever finish," I groaned

I looked at the time on my phone

7:30

Great Michael and Grace will be here in about an hour, and I have found nothing yet.

I eyed a box in the corner. I got up and went over to it I opened, and I took out papers that were in it. These were Jasmine medical records from when she was sick

It says she was sick for two years

But she told us she was sick for a few months and that the cancer spread faster than they expected

Why would she lie ?

I looked more through the papers it was papers of medicines she had to take and chemotherapy dates she had to go to.

I went through more papers until an envelope caught my eyes

Adoption Holly Center

Was printed on the front

Maybe this is it? This is what I'm finally looking for. But what if it is not what I expected ?

There I go with the what ifs.

I took a deep breath and opened the envelope

I took out what I think is my birth certificate

Think? Izara, it is your birth certificate.

I read the paper

Izara Dr Santis

Born April 15th, 2006

I then look at the signature for parents

Rowan and Valentina De Santis

They really are my family

I looked at a small picture with a little baby girl and boy

I turned the picture around, and it read

Izara and Dante De Santis

But how did they get this? Did Michael and Jasmine know about my family the whole time?

Tears started streaming down my face, making my vision blurry

I heard the front door opening, and it was slammed echoing through the whole house

"IZARA GET DOWN HERE NOW," Michael yelled from downstairs

I wiped my tears

I got up with the papers in my hand. I went down the steps and downstairs slowly.

I walked up towards a very angry Michael, but this time, I kept a cold face

"Didn't I tell you to stay away from Dr Santis and Lennon. I told you the basement would be the least of worries, " he said

I chuckled

"I spent all my life trying my hardest to understand what did I deserve to ever be hurt by you? I thought I had been a horrible daughter since Jasmine died. You aren't even my real father. IS THAT WHY YOU DIDN'T WANT ME AROUND THEM. MY REAL FUCKING FAMILY." I yelled throwing the papers at him

He picked up my birth certificate up off the floor and he read it. He looked up back at m.  fuming but I stood my ground not showing any fear that I usually show.

"You got some damn nerve talking to me like that Izara" he said calmly

He walked towards me he held his hand up slapping me across the face

I landed on the ground

"You think they want you" he said as grabbed a fist full of my hair tears streaming down my face

He kicked me in the stomach as my head went hitting the wall

"Why do you think I have you in my care" he said, kicking me in my stomach again

I spit out blood snd groaned holding my stomach

"They gave you away they never cared about you" he exclaimed

"THAT'S NOT TRUE" I yelled

My head went back as he had slap me again

"I'll make sure you'll never see a day of light again, you'll never see that so called family of yours. Because you'll always be here stuck with me. No matter how far you run or how long you hide I'll always find you Izara" he said

He kicked me in my stomach once again, black spots invading my vision.
