(a little note, this chapter is a little longer than the previous chapter! also a little angsty towards the middle and end!!)

Scar stood at the edge of the ruins, gazing out at the vast expanse of forest that surrounded them. The trees loomed tall and imposing, their branches creaking and rustling in the breeze. Beyond them, Scar could just make out the sound of rushing water - a river or stream, he supposed. He wondered if it was safe to drink from, but then decided against it, he thought maybe he could bathe in it instead. With a sigh, he turned to head back to the ruins - and that's when he saw him. A figure, standing by the water's edge a few feet away from him. It was the creature with purple eyes, the strange godlike creature from yesterday. Scar's heart quickened. What was he doing here? As soon as The creature saw scar near he flew upwards and he was gone. (or at least scar thought he was gone.)

Scar turned back around and approached the stream cautiously, still thinking of the god as he went. He didn't trust this creature, with his otherworldly purple eyes and ethereal glow. But the water looked so inviting, and Scar hadn't had a proper bath in days. He stripped down to his undergarments and waded into the cool, clear water.

The god watched from a distance, curious about what Scar was doing. He had seen mortals bathe before, of course, but it had been a long time. He wondered what it felt like, to wash away the dirt and grime of the world.

Scar continued to soak in the stream, the cool water soothing his aching muscles. As he relaxed, he couldn't help but notice a faint sound - a soft chuckling, almost like a laugh. He sat up, glancing around for the source of the noise. And that's when he saw him - the strange, godlike creature from before. The creature was perched on a nearby tree, watching Scar with an amused expression. Scar felt his face flush with embarrassment, realizing that the god had been watching him this whole time. He quickly grabbed his towel, trying to cover himself up. "Uh, hello there," Scar said awkwardly. "I didn't realize you were still here." The god merely continued to giggle, apparently finding Scar's wet hair and flushed face amusing.

Scar couldn't help but feel self-conscious under the god's gaze. He had never been one to care about others' opinions of him, but something about this creature made him uneasy. "Can I help you with something?" Scar asked, trying to sound polite.

The god shook his head, still chuckling. "No, no, I was just curious. Mortals are so fascinating," he said, his voice ethereal and otherworldly.

Scar raised an eyebrow. "And what makes mortals so fascinating?"

The god's eyes glittered in the dappled sunlight. "Their passions, their desires, their emotions. Mortals are so unpredictable, so full of life. It's refreshing."

Scar didn't know how to respond to that, so he just nodded awkwardly. The god continued to watch him for a few more moments before finally fluttering off, leaving Scar alone once again.

Scar spent a long while in the water, savoring the feel of the cool stream against his skin. But eventually, he knew he had to get out. He climbed out of the stream, water streaming down his body, and grabbed his clothes from the nearby branch. As he redressed, he couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. He turned around, half expecting to see the strange godlike creature again, but there was no one there. Scar shook his head, dismissing the feeling as paranoia, as Scar finished tightening the lace on his boot, he suddenly heard rustling from the trees behind him. He turned around to see a man emerging from the forest, his face covered in dirt and his clothes in tatters. Scar instinctively took a step back, feeling a shiver run down his spine.

The man started walking towards Scar, his eyes wild and crazed. Scar tried to back away, but the man kept advancing, brandishing a sharp stone in his hand. "What do you want?" Scar asked, trying to sound brave.
