Teachers came running out, and they herded us to the PA. Once the bell for sure didn't ring a few of the teacher's set out to find food for us for lunch amd tonight while leaving one teacher on duty to look after the kids. " We need to get out- and not just because I hate being in here when it so crammed!" Flic whispered to our little group huddled in between the wall and the devider. "I don't think we can. But we sure can get put of here" I whispered pointing down, they nodded their heads in agreement and I looked around for the teacher in duty.
Crap! It was her! My form teacher was chilling at the door talking to students as they came up and asked to leave. Mustering up enough courage I walked over and forced myself to speak hoping she wouldn't bring up what she saw that other day. "Miss can we wait outside for a bit? It's a bit crowded in here and well- we're feeling a bit squished together, we'll only sit outside at the tree!" I asked with the most honesty I could force into my voice, hopping she would let us. She stared for a few seconds and then sighed.
"I guess I could let you guys out for a few minutes, I do agree it is quite crowded in here and you guys are part of the responsible grade Eleven's- so please behave out there and don't go farther than that tree" After she opened the door she pointed to a tree that had always dropped leaves almost all year everywhere. We sat outside and immediately started brainstorming how to get out of here. We had finally come with a plan that when the teacher's switched shifts for toilet duty we would seek out another door they had forgot about, since they only had the keys to lock the backstage and side doors, otherwise we were on the home straight.
"Makayla, Felicity, Sky, Aquilla! What are you doing outside- nevermind, can you help me with this!" I could tell it wasn't a question, she was demanding. Our year Coordinator Mrs Murphy shouted for us to help her carry in boxes of blankets and help carry mats from the hall and the sports center back for people to sleep on and not the hard carpeted floor. It gave us time to look around for places that we could easily get out of the prison-like fence that enclosed the shcool, standing three meters high. We found that the roller gates were always open since they didn't have power.
The night came very quickly and we all surprisingly didn't have many food thefts- although I was still pissed about my book being stolen, still the teacher's had managed to find food for us to eat. Which was mainly musli bars and all that stuff. YUCK! Most of me and my friends didn't eat. We waited till the first teacher's switched duty and we quickly crept across the room, up onto the stage and out the back door to were the motorbikes were waiting. Considering we were still in our uniforms all we had to do was shoulder our bags and wheel the bikes out of noise range.
Which was far Considering there was no noise from cars or buildings still functioning without their power and their inhabitants. We made it to the football feild and gave up pushing them, I pulled my gloves out of the tank bag and my boots out of the bag strapped on the back as I balanced on my bike I tugged on my helmet and turned the bike on. The engines reveal to life so loud I flinched, they were twice as loud agian and I'd gotten used to the normal sound of a car pass in the middle of the night or other buildings working but this was so loud i was sure they herd it. Just to be safe, eventhough It was pitch black out we speed home to Gracemere guessing that's were they would head next.
