but anyways if y'all are anything like me you've alr seen like 10 diff vids and 15 articles on this situation so i won't be going too far into it and explaining all the specifics and if you HAVEN'T read said 15 articles seen said 10 youtube vids, you probs should lmao bc i am a literature girlie not a stem girlie and i really can't explain this in more detail
what i CAN get into however (and what y'all are here for sorry for taking like 500 words to get to the point lmao) is my OPINION and RANTS
SO. short answer to the inevitable question, am i happy ab this news:
yes and no. obviously. that's always the answer w this crap and it's the same thing i said abt RoP at first
because there are SO many pros and SOOOOO many cons so can i have a straight yes or no?? but let's discuss
PROS: amazon beef, and mr joffrey bauglir throwing a temper tantrum (hear the tears of joy from the fandom all around) bc he rly thought he had everything w the couple million dollars he paid to the tolkien estate to get third age show rights and then warner bros comes in like:

and now there's TENSION and a possibility for a visual representation of tolkien content in the future to be *scandalized gasp* better than rings of power??? no way!!!
and i will sit thru the shittiest money grab of a new lotr movie (*ahem* Morbius lotr edition *ahem*) if it means rings of power getting a) canceled or b) less people watching it or even better: ✨both ✨
because anything is better than FOUR MORE SEASONS (let that sink in. four more seasons. like 35 more hours of that show) of the half-trashfire lotr show that i sat thru in september
and i say half bc there were some vaguely decent moments, if you squint. but you get the point.
there's also the possibility of us FINALLY seeing things on screen that we've been clamoring for forever. like:
