As Boruto continued to walk out onto the deck, Sarada narrowed her eyes. She was just about get to the good part of the conversation. Even though Boruto was her childhood friend, it didn't change the fact that he was kind of in the way. "It's nothing! Go over there," she said dismissively.

"What, I wanna look at the ocean from the deck too." He went around to the other side of Sumire. "Wow, this is awesome!" It seemed like Boruto was genuinely enjoying the wonderful scenery.

Sarada, on the other hand, was slightly annoyed that she was being left out of the loop. It was a strange tension that left her neither angry nor amused. "You're too laid back..."

"You're just too tense," he said, turning his head from the view to Sarada with a smile. "You've been so motivated lately."

Just when you think he isn't watching you at all, it turns out he's actually paying attention. That's the kind of person Boruto was.

She averted the gaze she had absentmindedly turned to him. "Is that a bad thing?" It wasn't like she was trying to be snarky, or that she hated Boruto. She was just a little embarrassed that he had noticed her enthusiasm.

"I don't mind. It's not like I wanna be the hokage or anything," he said lightheartedly.

"The only one in the village who doesn't understand The Seventh's good points is you."

Boruto was in rebellion against his father. Most people saw Naruto as "The Seventh Hokage." But to Boruto, he was just "Dad."

"I'm also the only one in the village who understands all his bad points," he replied. "Speaking of dads, isn't your dad unbelievably strong?"

"This and that are different." She cut him off so he wouldn't notice the slight panic giving rise in her heart. And then she turned to face Boruto, exuding pressure onto him. "I want to become a shinobi like Lord Seventh."

"....."

She could sense that he was at a loss for words. This time, he was the one to avert his gaze. "If that's the case, then you should take over as the school field trip representative," he muttered.

Sarada turned to him with a chuckle, a smile lighting up her face. She had a feeling Boruto would say that. "I nominated you to be the leader to prevent you from going off and getting into trouble. All so we could have a fun field trip."

Sarada was always the one getting teased by Boruto. The tables had finally turned enough for her to call it even.

"T-That's dirty! Is that the kind of thing a girl who is aiming to become the hokage would do?"

"Hehe ♪" Sarada giggled as Boruto pointed his finger at her in protest.

"Don't 'hehe ♪' me!"

To calm the now angered Boruto, she teasingly ran away, laughing as he chased her around the deck of the ship.
