((Song to refer to one specific POV more than the others, which is not Y/n's))

The four had collectively agreed to just have Y/n stay a few more days than planned so they could all go around the same time and have an easier time finding the house.

Y/n and Tommy had been hanging out when he popped a very unexpected question.

"Hey, have Ranboo and Tubbo told you they're dating yet?"

"I'm sorry, that they're what?" Y/n asked, raising his brows. Uh oh.

Tommy tried to explain, and Y/n listened carefully. He rambled, slightly embarrassed when he brought up the time he'd 'walked in on the two.'

"It's kinda obvious, I'd just never really considered it until then. Then I asked Wilbur, he knows a lot about love n' shit, and he-"

"Wait, wait, wait," Y/n raised a hand, stopping him. "Did you ask them?"

"I... no, I was kind of waiting for them to tell me," he said, scratching the back of his neck. "I don't know why they haven't, but I was hoping they'd get to it eventually. I mean, I'm his best friend, maybe he's just nervous?"

"Tommy, man," Y/n pinched the bridge of his nose, eyes closed. "You have to talk to them."

"I don't- I mean-" he stuttered. Yeah, that was a non-starter.

Y/n stood up, walking to the door as Tommy fell silent. He walked down the hall, knocking on the door of their shared room.

"Come in!"

He opened the door to find what seemed to be the two working on adding more buttons onto the jacket together. He wondered if Ranboo'd taught him how to sew them on, but now wasn't the time to ask.

"Are you two dating?" he asked, not bothering to lead up to the question. He had a feeling he already knew the answer.

"No," Ranboo answered, confused. "Why?"

"Shit," Y/n cursed under his breath. "Pardon me for a moment."

He walked back out, taking Tommy's arm without a word and leading him back to the room.

"I think the three of you need to have a talk."

"Did I do something? Wait, are they not-" Tommy turned to the other two, taking a deep breath. "Are you not dating?"

Y/n left, giving them space to sort it out on their own, and decided to go for a walk. He left a note on the table, grabbing his jacket and shoes, and headed out.

-

He couldn't think of anywhere to go, but they'd passed plenty on the car ride that was definitely within walking distance. He settled on a nearby store, just wandering through the aisles. He didn't plan to buy anything, but he could easily spend hours wandering in a quiet store, and it wasn't too crowded.

He was flipping through shirts in the mens section when he glimpsed a vaguely familiar man across the aisle with a girl who looked a bit younger than Y/n himself was.

It took him a few seconds, but he was almost certain he recognized him. He walked over, compelled by the need to know more.

"Hey, you," he said, unsure how to address him at this point.

The man turned, stepping forward slightly in front of the girl in a casually protective way. Y/n only noticed because of the way Wil tended to do the same when with anyone younger than him.

"Do you need something?" He paused for a moment, then softly smiled. "You're that kid who was with Wil, aren't you?" he asked.

Y/n nodded, suddenly realizing this might've been a bad decision. What had Wilbur said about this guy?

"Mom's gonna want me home in an hour," the girl spoke up, tugging at his sleeve.

"Sorry Lily-pad, got distracted."

His tone with her almost sounded like Phil's with... well, almost any of them when they were having trouble. Genuine and soft.

"I've got to get my sister home on time, and I've promised her we'll get something done beforehand," he said.

Y/n wondered why Wil seemed so uncomfortable in the airport. He'd mentioned they were old friends, and he seemed so normal and kind.

"No worries, you two have a nice day," he smiled back.

"Ah, but..." the stranger paused, glancing over his shoulder. "If you're close to Wil, you deserve the truth. I'll be back here in a couple hours if you happen to be in the area," he offered, leaving before getting an answer.

That was... oddly ominous. What the hell did he mean 'the truth'?
