"We live in an awfully unfair world. Anything that's not normal to many is something that should be condemned. Sad but true."   - Damned05

Watching The Rich Man's Daughter made me think of the things that I chose to ignore.  Bakit? Pero tama ba 'to? No, it's not. Kasi nga we can't make them see or understand why we are who we are. Minsan nga kahit explain natin, useless lang db? Tama naman.  That's reality kasi.

Pero minsan, natatanong ko sa sarili ko.  Hanggang kailan ba magiging ganito ang mundo.  Ang mga tao sa paligid natin? Palagi ba natin silang hahayaan na i-treat nila tayo differently just because we live our lives differently from them? And how different are we compared to them? Honestly, wala. Which is, if you think about it, hindi ganoon ka big deal.  Right?

I mean, in my case for instance.  I enjoy the same things other people enjoys.  Like, great music, great movies, sports, good food and animals.  I am being angered by insensitive and selfish people.  Sila din naman ganon db? So what makes me different, and why do they think they're better than I am? Does that make me a lesser person than they are? I came from a good family, with a good reputation sa society.  I graduated college with flying colors.  There are people far worst that me but why do other people think lesser of who I am when they find out that I'm gay?

Marami tayo. Some people treat murderers and thieves better than they treat people like us.

But MTRCB allows rape, abuse of women & children, violence, matinding sex scenes between heterosexuals than a simple sweet & romantic kiss between two people in love. It just doesn't make sense right?

Or kung magbabago pa.  But on the other hand, I am still hopeful.  And I'm praying that gradually, things would change for us.

People think that I love watching The Rich Man's Daughter because of the love story between Jade & Althea.  I would admit, the love story is a great factor why I watch it.  But there are more important reasons why I love the show.  First, the courage of the people behind the show to release such a sensitive themed program on national tv.  Second, My Husband's Lover and The Rich Man's Daughter might help to open up people's mind about the lives of LGBT people and what we go through on a daily basis.  People say cliché daw ang stories.  Pero cliché man o hindi, we should be grateful because at last our story is being told on a nationwide level.

As for me, I use twitter, facebook and wattpad as my platform to bring awareness about our lives.  Also, to make people like me feel that they are not alone. We are not alone.  There are people like us, who may not experience the exact things we experienced, but there are people who'd truly understand what we're going thru.

Sorry kung medyo mahaba ang lintanyang ito.  I just have to get it out of my head.  Feel free to comment, hindi para tumaas ang rating ng story, but at least be heard.  You might find some people here who can relate to you db?

Thanks for reading mga ka-watty.

Much love,

Just Lyn (Damned05)
