Cancer poem

I watched him whether away.

I watched as the battle raged on but one side was clearly winning.

First started the weight lose.

What was once a strong man is now all but skin and bones.

Then the hair lose.

Who once had an old mechanic's mustache and old man hair is now all bald.

The once smiling, hardworking man is lost.

Who was once always on his feet and smiling at me and my family is now sitting in his chair starring off into space.

The man who once joked around now stated the facts and seemed to lose his life.

This man I once use to know seems to have disappeared.

This man that I loved was now replaced with a man I still loved but he is changed.

His strength is slowly evaporating.

The spark was slowly smoldering out.

With one last good bye it took him.

The sickness had won.

To my uncle Jim may you rest in peace and to my uncle Rich who is fight the same cancer that took his brother(uncle Jim) and to my grandma who is and was watching her brothers go through this.
