The lost that summer poem

I lost you that summer.

I grieve for you

I cried myself to sleep every night but that's ok

What's not ok was you leaving

What hurt the most was not the pain but being left behind

It was all the words not spoken yet

It was me wanting you to met my first boyfriend

It was me wanting you to see my first rodeo win

It was me wanting you to be at my wedding

It was me wanting you to be more in my life

I want you home

I want to go back to where you held me

And stop the time where you hold me

For this is the time where you held me

For this time I know when you let me go I will never feel that feeling of your arms around me ever again.
