emersyn and chris got dropped off at school by luke. chris didnt mention matts messages to emersyn since he didn't want to upset her more than she already was.
they both went their separate ways and she went to her math class. she sat down and grabbed her books. she feels someone approaching her table, she looks up to see matt.
"what do you want matt" she asks, avoiding eye contact
"are you dating chris?" matt asks
"ew, no" she looks at him with furrowed brows
"do you like him?" matt asks
"no, i like you, you idiot" she thinks
"im not dating him and i dont like him" she answers, annoyed
"fine, youre not dating him" matt walks away

emersyn was walking with nick to study hall, she was dreading seeing matt again, she didnt want to see him.
she told nick about the incident and he told her to brush it off, he would come around.
she hated hearing chris and nick say that 'he would come around', because he hadnt.
they walked into the library and saw matt and chris sitting at the bean bag area. both of them sitting on two large sized bean bags.
"hey guys" nick says, sitting down on matts bean bag with him
"hi" emersyn says
"emmy!" chris says happily
"chris!" emersyn responds, plopping down on his bean bag
chris puts his arm around her as she hugs him. matt literally staring into their soul. of course eleanor shows up.
"hey guys" eleanor sits on another bean bag

"hi eleanor" nick and chris say at the same time
"nick jinx him!" emersyn points at chris
"JINX!" nick exclaims "bitch"
emersyn laughs as chris signals her to unjinx her.
"fine, chris chris chris" she unjinxes him
"are you two dating?" eleanor asks
"no, why does everyone think that?" chris throws his head back
"maybe because you two are literally cuddling" nick says
"i dont see the problem" emersyn shrugs
"can we just study? thats what study hall is for" matt says sternly
"fine" chris grabs his computer

matt felt a wave of jealousy drowning him. he was about to flip out on them right then and there. he wanted to tell emersyn how much he missed her, but eleanor hated emersyn and he didnt want to lose his girlfriend, but he also didnt want to lose his (ex) best friend.
when he saw emersyn cry, he just wanted to hug her, give her the biggest hug ever because of course she needed it.
but what matt didnt know is that emersyn needed him most.
